I offer therapy services for individuals ages 1-25. I love to walk with a client and grow together. I like to set obtainable goals that we can meet as a team. I work well with people who do not know what they want out of therapy as well. Therapy is really scary if you've never been, so i'm here to help work through that. I like to add humor and sarcasm to sessions when it fits, so fair warning. I work with all types of clients and will continue to do so. The session is led by you so if you want to learn skills, be completely serious, have fun while still working, that is all doable - though I will ask what you want to work on. :)

Coupling empathy, creativity, and compassion, with evidenced-based practice, I address a variety of mental health issues including adjustment issues/life transitions, anxiety and depression, PTSD, shame, adolescent and women's issues.

Maybe you are on the verge of something…big, scary, exhilarating, distressing. Are you looking for some support to take a leap of faith? Has life brought you to a crossroads you are unsure how to navigate? My passion is helping adults facing challenges during life transitions such as employment change, relocation, divorce, empty nest, health. I can work with you to transform challenges into exciting discoveries of self. I like to refer to this as resilience. Resilience is not a trait that people either have or do not have. Anyone can develop and nurture resilience. Resilience is not magic; it is a state of being.

I hold space especially for Adult (18+) Women, Black people, Indigenous people, other people of color, LGBTQIA+, and gender-expansive people.
The recent loss of a close friend was a blunt reminder that tomorrow is not promised. A blunt reminder that being present and in the moment is all that we truly have. Many of us wrestle with events of the past or fear about the future while in the meantime, we often forget that we have the ability - choice - to grab hold of the moment we are in with everything we have and make it truly and wonderfully ours. We get a say in what that moment will be: happy, content, sad, angry, tormented. I specialize in midlife support for women and under represented communities in the therapeutic world: life transitions, mental health & menopause.

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
