I work with a variety of concerns; trauma, depression , anxiety, grief, abandonment, and others. I use an integrative approach (why limit yourself to one tool when many are available?) leaning heavily on attachment theory. I have also spent significant time working with children and adolescents with complex trauma and/or abandonment. I believe that people have inherent resiliency, even if it seems lost for a time. My focus and belief are that people can find it within themselves to heal and grow, and my time with clients is spent looking for the ways in which healing and growth can be implemented and maximized.

I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression , PTSD, trauma, stress, spiritual issues, among other challenges. Often, what clients need first is to know that they are not broken, damaged or abnormal. Thoughts and feelings are normal, your relationship to them makes all the difference. We all experience difficult and challenging times in life, and learning how to live with the painful thoughts and feelings that emerge is what therapy is designed to help you with. Helping you emerge from your difficult life circumstances toward a more fulfilling life will be a major goal in the counseling process.

I have a few primary areas of expertise: anxiety, trauma (PTSD), depression and relational (couples) counseling.
CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. I offer televideo sessions. Secure and easy, just click a link. Finding a therapist can be difficult to do. It can be hard to know if the counselor will be a good fit for you. Give me a call for a complimentary phone consult and we can talk about what is on your mind. If we are not a good fit, there is a good chance that I know someone who is and can offer you a personal referral. If we are a good fit, then we can begin our journey toward finding understanding, growth, and healing in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

Counseling provides a safe space to examine patterns of thought, feeling and behavior that may be feeding depression , anxiety, codependency, low self-esteem, relationship conflict, PTSD and other issues.
You're not feeling so good about things right now, and you're running out of ideas to make it better. Maybe your relationship with a partner, family member or friend has gone sideways, leaving you feeling hurt, misunderstood or alone. Maybe your relationship with yourself is struggling, weighted by negative thoughts and feelings that don't accurately reflect who you really are or who you want to be. You're not your best self right now, and you know it. You're tired of feeling this way—and you want to change it.

If you are bothered with anxiety, depression , trauma, life transitions, feeling unworthy, struggling with relationships, or any other challenge in life, let’s talk about it.
My goal is to help make counseling feel comfortable, safe, and at your pace. We will work collaboratively to help you find your strength, feel empowered and confident, and rediscover meaning and purpose in your life. Talking through past or present tough experiences or hurts can be difficult. It’s tempting to try and ignore them or minimize how they are impacting you. Therapy can be a safe space to help you take the time needed to address your feelings in a way that will help you truly heal from the hurt, and discover how to engage with yourself in a healthy way that enables you to move forward.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression therapists in McMinnville. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
