I am currently accepting new clients. Helping people achieve a higher quality life with more joy never gets old. Working with full spectrum eating disorders, ranging from people who are grappling with bulimia, anorexia, binge eating, compulsive/emotional eating, to orthorexia. I address body image concerns by helping clients gain insight in order to develop effective coping mechanisms. My practice includes working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, difficult life transitions, feeling "stuck" or seeking a higher quality of life, social phobias, and obsessive compulsive issues.

Therapy for the apocalypse: specializing in anxieties, existential overwhelm, improving relationships and boundaries, exploration of identities (including: gender, sexuality, ability, race and ethnicity, career, and class), and I prioritize Queer/TGNC individuals and those impacted by systemic racism, misogyny, and socio-political issues. I work with people who consider themselves perfectionists, overthinkers, people-pleasers; loners, weirdos; people told they are "too difficult," "too sensitive," "too much;" those who want to connect with others but feel unable to due to past hurt or current negative narratives about themselves.

I use the research proven methods of Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, Child-Centered Play Therapy for children, and CPRT with parents.
Life is stressful often in ways we do not expect. Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected is common and can negatively impact our well-being and relationships. Sometimes we get stuck in unhealthy cycles of interaction or ways of coping. Other times, life transitions or changes seem daunting. Or maybe you are just longing to feel connected and be known. Whatever you are going through, know you're not alone and there is hope! People may get hurt through relationships, but they also can heal through them. We are meant for connection, change, and growth.

I focus on addressing underlying trauma and attachment injury through the use of somatic, emotionally focused , relational, and mindfulness based therapies based on presenting issues and desired outcomes.
Life can leave you feeling lonely, anxious, and depressed. But you don’t need to stay there. I invite you to inquire within. It's time to reconnect with the wisdom within you. Your body carries information that you haven't tapped into or perhaps don't yet have access to. I'm here to help you realize that the answers are already there. We might just need to shine some light on the shadows (things that have been to hard to look at). Acknowledging and integrating those parts that have been ignored or tucked away can lead to more authentic ways of showing up in your relationships with yourself, with others, and with the planet.

I work from an emotionally focused therapy lens.
I believe it is an honor to be trusted with a person's deepest emotions. I am here to offer you a space where you feel supported, understood, and challenged to explore those difficult and seemingly hard to reach places within yourself. I will foster a trusting relationship where, together, we can identify the strengths you already have, in order to cultivate change, growth, and healing. I approach therapy through an experiential lens (understanding, accepting, and experiencing emotions that guide our behaviors).

I am certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT and EFIT) as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Anxiety, depression, and boundary issues can stand in the way of healthy friendships, family relationships, and romantic connections. Attempts at creating connections can be overwhelming and create more anxiety, depression, in a seemingly a never ending cycle. You try so hard to make others happy so can't understand why you don't have more lasting friendships, deeper connections. With my help you can break out of the cycle and work towards having healthy, balanced relationships. In the process you will also learn skills to combat anxiety and depression as well as increase your self-esteem and confidence

I enjoy working with people who seek both short term solution-focused therapy and those who choose to pursue longer term goals of personality change in the context of depth psychology. There are truly many paths to achieving significant relief from symptoms of loss, depression, and anxiety or a change in one's personal situation. I view the therapeutic journey as Herodotus understood the original meaning of the word history (historous): not as a noun (i.e. a fixed thing) but a verb: literally to go and find out for one's self.

It's not too difficult to get the skeletons out of the closet with people, but to get the gold out is a different matter. That is therapy. I help individuals and couples experience life-changing results. Devote more than 30 years of near-daily focus to always learning, continuously improving, and passionately doing something really well, and as you might guess, you'll probably end up doing it pretty dang well.

We are all unique; the experiences we've had - whether personal, social, or communal - can lead to internalized negative messages that prevent us from becoming our authentic, fulfilled selves. In my care, we will work together through these obstacles and grow your confidence, increase insight, and create more fulfillment in your relationships with others and within yourself.

Emotionally Focused Therapists
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an approach to therapy that helps clients identify their emotions, learn to explore and experience them, to understand them and then to manage them. Emotionally Focused Therapy embraces the idea that emotions can be changed, first by arriving at or 'living' the maladaptive emotion (e.g. loss, fear or shame) in session, and then learning to transform it. Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples seeks to break the negative emotion cycles within relationships, emphasizing the importance of the attachment bond between couples, and how nurturing of the attachment bonds and an empathetic understanding of each others emotions can break the cycles.
