My true passion is supporting
women
, gender diverse humans, and those identifying within the LGBTQ+ community.
We are collectively experiencing a major upheaval in our world, and because of this we are at point where we can make positive social change. The pain of deep wounds caused by generations of suffering and injustice impacts our day to day lives. The systems that we live in are significantly out of date, and in turn they are harmful to our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Healing on an individual level is the first step to healing families and communities. Reaching for support can make an important difference in navigating difficult feelings, memories, and situations.

As a Professional Counselor Associate, I will use my skills and voice to help empower my clients. I look forward to a long career in the mental health field where my community members, especially people of color, veterans,
women
, and individuals needing a cheerleader and advocate in their corner, can receive the care that they deserve. I want to understand the whole person and hope that everyone will soon be able to see themselves for who they are and not by what society or their diagnosis tells them. Seeking mental health treatment is a big step and I want to celebrate each person’s journey.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, sad, or scared, you do not have to go through this alone. We can work together to identify the areas that you want to change, draw from your strengths, and establish an individualized wellness plan. I believe that change is possible and want to help you empower yourself to change unhealthy patterns and reach your goals, or just help you get to a place where you feel like yourself again. Having a problem does not reflect on a person's character, integrity, or ability to improve their circumstances if desired.

“What in the hell is happening?" Educated, and successful, everything look great, but on the inside, you're quietly unraveling. Covid, anger, blame, and uncertainty are taking a toll, bringing up stuff you thought you'd already dealt with. Anxiety and negative thoughts are taking over again: "Too much." "Not enough." "Why did I..." It's time to slow down. Get back into therapy and do the deep dive. Family. Childhood. Divorce. Religion. Therapy isn’t sitting around gazing at your navel, blaming the past. It's hard work, that takes time and commitment. And it can be absolutely life changing. Let's find YOUR voice.

"We all have our stuff." I heard a wise
woman
say this years ago. We might feel overwhelmed by all the expectations of life - of adulthood. We might be carrying the weight of something terrible that has happened in our lives. We might feel deeply alone - even when we are around other people. Maybe we feel out of control or lacking discipline, struggling to break habits that we know are bad for us. Whatever the case may be, you are not alone. Lots of people come to therapy. Lots of people feel much better after trying it.

I support people to learn why they relate to themselves and others the way they do and to interrupt unhelpful patterns. I am passionate about helping people heal from the past, build healthy relationships, and finally feel good enough. I specialize in working with college students and parents, especially
women
and people who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Many of my clients have participated in therapy before and found it to be useful but describe eventually hitting a plateau. I'm excited to help you to build off this work and level up. I also pride myself in thoughtfully welcoming newcomers to therapy.

As an immigrant,
woman
of color I have had to heal from internalized oppression.
Our environment influences how we see ourselves in the world; it shapes our internal narratives and our relationship with ourselves and others. As a BIPoC, immigrant therapist, it is my honor and duty to provide a safe space for BIPoC folx and immigrants and seek to help each person see their own power and heal their wounds. I seek to help individuals who may be working on healing from radicalized trauma and various forms internalized oppression in order to become the person they were meant to be. Understanding our own history and connection to our ancestors helps us to understand who we are today and helps us heal our Soul.

All of us face experiences in our lives where we can benefit from the support and connection that therapy provides. Scientific evidence demonstrates that a strong and consistent therapeutic relationship is restorative, healing and emotionally regulating. As a therapist, I believe in connecting with clients, human-to-human, and I regularly feel a deep sense of understanding for those with whom I work. There is so much noise around us that it is often difficult for us to hear our own truth. I offer a compassionate, heart-centered space to help you to deeply trust your own inner strength and core values.

Life is a journey without a clear roadmap. We hit bumps, wrong turns, and flat tires along the way. Worry, sadness, and confusion can be a natural response to these problems we encounter. Sometimes it is difficult to know which direction is the best or even if we want to continue the journey. I am here to help you find your way, to find acceptance, and feel strong enough to face the obstacles to your travel. If you are feeling, overwhelmed, steeped in sadness, uncertain, panicked or worried about almost everything or just one thing, I can help.

As a transpersonal counselor, it is my goal in working with
women
to approach and integrate their highest human potential. Inside each of us is our highest self, and together my clients and I work toward what is their own, unique potential. I find that holding the space for my clients to reach a place where they believe in themselves, encourages them to step into those experiences that may be holding them back. Together we walk through fear, anger, sadness, shame, guilt, or grief. Whatever feeling, emotion, or problem that brought them to me together on the other side we find the potential that was hidden inside.

I work with top performers that are set on improving their relationships. These relationships include with a partner, child, parent, and even oneself. The relationship could be with coping behaviors, such as with work or a substance. I’m speaking to those of you that are highly critical. You likely had challanging times in your youth. These challenges pushed you to the top in your field. Yet they also primed your nervous system to see annoyance, threat, or frustration more easily. You might be afraid therapy will end your edge. I honor your edge. It’s a great gift. Our work together will support you in widening your options.

As a white, cis, presently able-bodied

, I am actively involved in personal anti-racism work via Resmaa Menakem's Somatic Abolitionism model.
Many clients come to me after years of talk therapy that hasn't helped them fully heal. I specialize in experiential models of therapy, specifically, EMDR Therapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, that provide opportunities to find lasting healing from past trauma, as well as, other difficulties including anxious and depressive experiences, uncomfortable transitions, relationship struggles and other life challenges. These methods are creative, emergent and always a product of collaborative treatment planning. My work with clients is goal-directed and active.

8.22.22: I have a short waitlist. If you would like to be on my waitlist, call for a consultation. We all need connection. But sometimes making and maintaining connections is hard. When we’re dealing with difficult situations or trying to protect ourselves from pain, we can get distracted, distant, or shut down; in other words, disconnected. Whatever brought you here today, I invite you to consider whether feeling more connected - with your inner experiences, the important people in your life, or the activities you’re engaged in - could help.

I hold space for young
women
and non-binary folks as they cultivate inner peace and come back home to themselves.
Soothe anxiety, find self acceptance, and feel confident in your own skin. You desire a life in which you are thriving, but right now you feel stuck and struggle to trust your inner wisdom. You can't shake the constant worry or second guessing of things you say or do, and while you care deeply for others, you're hardest on yourself- like you're never enough. Perhaps it feels as though your inner self doesn't match your life on the outside. It's possible to have a trusting and fulfilling relationship with yourself without the unhelpful thoughts and conditioning from your environment that don't reflect you.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
