I have experience in working with ADHD , relational issues, and childhood trauma.
My work with clients reflects values of anti-oppression, transparency, and trust. Therapy is an investment in your growth and personal development, the foundations of which are a solid relationship between the therapist and client. I am seeking clients who are willing to dig deep in order to disentangle from unhelpful narratives and thoughts. I enjoy working with issues regarding relationships, attachment, identity, existential concerns, belonging and trauma. As a clinical social worker, an understanding of the systemic nature of trauma is a key part of my practice.

In addition to individual therapy, Silverman Psychological Services LLC specializes in psychological testing for ages 6+ for symptoms related to ADHD , autism spectrum, learning disabilities, behavioral problems, mood problems, and psychological functioning.
Individual therapy for ages 18+: A lot of my clients have sought out my services because they have felt "a little lost" in life. Whether it be work stress, parenting, or relationship issues, life became overwhelming and maybe some symptoms of anxiety and depression appeared. I work with clients by joining with them in their journey and figuring out what is happening and what next steps are truly desired. Many of my clients have been with me for years as we bump (or roller coaster) along life's journey.

Mental and behavioral health are as important as physical health, especially for children and teens. More than ever our children need resiliency and good, adaptive coping strategies as well as access to prompt, high-quality treatment for common conditions like anxiety, depression, or ADHD . To increase access to services, I will now offer cognitive-behavioral therapy groups for children with depression and anxiety and parent groups for families impacted by ADHD . Groups size will be kept small. The CBT treatment will follow an established approach for 10 weeks (in person).

I am ADD myself and have respect for the power of neurobiology on personality.
People come to counseling to alleviate some suffering or to get clarity on some confusion or path choice in their lives. I work with my clients to co-invent ways for you to accomplish these and other goals they may have. If you come as a couple I will strive to help you decode the mystery of what brought the two of you together and what your spirits need now, together and individually. These days I also work a lot with families who have kids with social and recreational screen media dependence. Please see my book on Amazon on this topic.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.
