In therapy, you have an opportunity to come closer to the truth of who you are. Do you sense that you are called to something greater? That there is goodness and love inside you that longs to extend itself to the world? I’d like to support you to release barriers that are holding you back and forge a life path that is meaningful to you. Psychotherapy provides the space to experience unconditional acceptance. Together we are able to focus care and attention on wounds that can both limit your abilities and propel you further than you had ever imagined.

*My practice is currently full and I am not accepting new clients at this time* I believe humans have infinite potential, and one of my favorite things about what I do is helping people discover more of their own. The ideal client for me is someone with the desire to create positive change for themselves, and the willingness to explore how old habits might be interfering with achieving a life of purpose and joy. My goal is to create a warm, safe, and confidential environment where teens and adults can feel comfortable expressing their true selves without fear of judgement.

I have a passion for working with clients surrounding Depression, Anxiety, OCD, PTSD, Developmental Trauma, & Grief and Loss. I believe individuals have the ability to change when given the opportunity. Many of us have learned ways of thinking and doing that seemed to work at the time but have created problems for us later. We then target ourselves, adding a lot of shame regarding the outcomes, which in turn creates more distress. I enjoy helping individuals learn to accept themselves and to work with themselves to heal, rather than continuing to shame themselves.

Everybody has ups and downs, it is a normal part of life. Talking to a friend or loved one can be incredibly helpful. When you begin to feel “keyed up” all the time for no apparent reason, or feelings like hopelessness and despair seem to have taken hold, it may be time to talk with a professional. It is my greatest privilege to come alongside you to listen, empathize, and provide professional counseling during this leg of your life’s journey and provide the tools to help you to live your best life possible.

I believe every individual has the power within to reach a state of inner peace and harmony. As life confronts us with challenging experiences, our body and mind may respond with unhealthy coping strategies, resulting in feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, and stress. While you may be feeling this way now, you are capable of finding relief. As we work together collaboratively, I will meet you where you are at, to help guide you to find your inner peace by breaking down barriers and learning healthy coping strategies.

All of us face experiences in our lives where we can benefit from the support and connection that therapy provides. Scientific evidence demonstrates that a strong and consistent therapeutic relationship is restorative, healing and emotionally regulating. As a therapist, I believe in connecting with clients, human-to-human, and I regularly feel a deep sense of understanding for those with whom I work. There is so much noise around us that it is often difficult for us to hear our own truth. I offer a compassionate, heart-centered space to help you to deeply trust your own inner strength and core values.

It can feel vulnerable to acknowledge that you’re struggling, but it’s my belief that there is a lot of strength in that willingness to be open and seek change. I strive to honor that by providing an environment of safety, acceptance, and empowerment. My approach is described as easy-going, direct and nonjudgmental. I respect my clients’ needs and welcome the opportunity to work with people of diverse backgrounds, identities, and relationships. My goal is to help you find relief through expanded self-awareness, development of practical tools, increased connectedness, and by shifting out of old or unhelpful patterns.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
