My training as a couples, marriage and family therapist leads me to view client functioning in terms of relationships. My goal is to help clients bring forth a self that feels true and real. I help clients learn to ask for and receive what they need from others, embracing life and life's challenges with courage, renewed spirit, and a sense of wholeness. When clients feel supported, validated, and understood they often find that symptoms of depression and anxiety are relieved. Working with me, clients will learn to access their inner resources as we generate solutions together.

You are searching these pages for help, for clarity, for healing. I've been helping adults and children understand themselves and their relationships for over 30 years. You are not just an individual with a problem; you are a person in context to your past, your future and your present. My approach in therapy involves seeing us in the context of relationships with ourselves and others. As we come to understand who we are in those relationships we have opportunities for healing, for reconciliation, for growth.

I work with couples who are: • Recovering from infidelity or emotional betrayal • Caught in high-conflict cycles—yelling, silence, blame, or shutdown • Struggling with emotional or sexual disconnection • Navigating trauma that’s impacting the relationship • Feeling lost in the “should we stay or should we leave
You’re not broken—and neither is your relationship. But if it feels like you’re stuck in the same fight, if trust is shattered, or if you’re both walking on eggshells, something needs to shift. I specialize in working with couples facing the hardest stuff: betrayals, shutdowns, explosive conflict, trauma histories, and the question of whether to stay or go. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment science, and trauma-informed approaches to get beneath the surface fights and into the heart of what’s really happening.

Whether it's pornography or other forms of infidelity we can help.
There are two ways we help our clients. We do individual sessions and workgroups. The workgroups meet once a week for an hour. These are very helpful, and the accountability piece. Having other peers you can talk to and open up with on your journey to recovery. We also offer individual sessions that allow us to go deep and get personal.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
