My practice is focused on providing a space for individuals, couples, and families to address relationship problems and mental health issues. I draw heavily from third wave therapies that emphasize mindfulness, acceptance, spirituality, and identifying personal values. Achieving a deep sense of wellbeing requires a variety of life factors to be in balance. Therapy should be a place where we get closer to achieving that all-important balance.

My practice is a sanctuary where the tender work of becoming whole unfolds, where the fragments of your stories find their way back to each other through patience, presence, and profound witnessing. For fourteen years, I have walked alongside souls brave enough to turn toward their wounds, to befriend their exiled parts, and to discover that healing lives in the very places that have been abandoned. I hold space for your relationships, those you tend with others and the one you cultivate within. Through parts work, you learn to welcome home every aspect of self, even those long shadowed by shame or silence.

Whether you’re looking to sharpen your mindset, or find solid ground A little effort here goes a long way for your world and your family. Women are welcome as much as men! Now... let’s work together, create tools, and find solutions! Updated on 04/03/26

Accepting new clients for group therapy only. Do you long for better relationships? Would you like to understand more about yourself and how you relate to those around you? Do you feel like you're alone or like you are the only one who feels the way you feel? Do you notice similar things happening in your relationships over and over again? Group therapy feels scary at first for most of us, but it can be the perfect place to work on issues like these. Whether introverted or extraverted, we are all inherently social creatures. Healing in community with others is natural to our species but is an art that many of us have lost.

Trauma is a highly complex and personal experience. Everyone's experience and definition of trauma is different. Among both professionals and clients, it is often incredibly misunderstood. It affects us across physical, social, emotional, and spiritual bounds. It compromises our ability to process sensory input and renders us incapable of communicating at times. Traumatic experiences can make us feel "small" and incompetent, incapable of managing basic tasks at times, or we may even develop intermittent or chronic pain.

Accepting New Clients No matter what, we will experience suffering in life. People will come and go, we'll have times of failure as well as success, we may experience sickness or traumas. And this suffering can naturally lead to fear and worry and sadness. When we become overwhelmed by these experiences and don't have access to our own innate ability to navigate them, anxiety and depression occur. Often this happens when we either turn inward and criticize and blame our selves for whatever is happening, or we turn outward and blame others, or even life itself.

In working with eating disorders I employ a number of models within a framework of a bio-psychosocial perspective.
As a systems oriented psychotherapist, I believe that we are connected to and affected by those around us. Our families of origin, communities, cultures, workplaces and families of choice impact our lives and sense of self. Relationships and experiences we have had in the past influence who we are and how we relate to the world. To live with the greatest joy and productivity we must heal past relational traumas and bring to consciousness effects they have had in our lives. By doing so, we are free to make thoughtful choices about how we live our lives and relate to others.

Therapy is an opportunity for one to learn new skills, manage specific struggles or a mental illness, and build upon strengths that lead toward a more satisfying and meaningful life. My therapy style is interpersonal in nature which means I rely on building a strong relationship with my clients as the main avenue of change. My areas of expertise include working with clients facing any of the following issues: depression, anxiety, relationship distress, eating/body image, sexual, career uncertainty, and identity (race, nationality, sexual orientation, (trans)gender, age, religion/spirituality).

Eating Disorders Therapists
What happens in therapy for eating disorders?
In therapy for eating disorders, patients typically describe their eating and exercise behaviors, their patterns of eating in relation to stress, their beliefs about their body, the ways their eating behavior affects their relationships, and their desire (or lack of it) to change. Such information helps the therapist understand the origins of the disorder and the role it plays in the patient’s life, important for guiding treatment. Attitudes and feelings about food and eating, body weight, and physical appearance are common topics of discussion throughout treatment.

What therapy types help with eating disorders?
Once any acute medical or psychiatric emergency is resolved, psychoactive medication is often prescribed, requiring the supervision of a psychiatrist. In addition, patients receive some form of nutritional counseling along with one or more forms of psychotherapy. For adolescents, family-based treatment is empirically validated and considered the first line of treatment; parents and their children meet weekly with a clinician as the adults are coached on how to nourish and psychologically support the young patient. Adults typically receive some form of individual psychotherapy, intended to resolve the cognitive and behavioral disturbances that underlie the disorder and to relieve the mood disturbances that accompany it. In addition, patients may also be helped by group therapy.

What is the goal of therapy for eating disorders?
The most immediate goal of treatment for eating disorders is to save the life of people who are on a path of starving themselves to death or engaging in eating patterns that are doing irreparable physical harm to their body. Once the acute medical danger is past, therapy is required to understand the nature of the disordered eating and/or exercise patterns, establish healthy eating behavior, and to tackle the many erroneous beliefs and distorted self-perceptions that underlie eating disorders and continue to pose a threat to health and life. Therapy also addresses the impaired mood that not only accompanies eating disorders but intensifies the danger to health and life.

What are the limitations of therapy for eating disorders?
Therapy can be very helpful for eating disorders—but that can happen only after people recognize they have a condition that must be treated. Especially with anorexia, the distortions in self-image that accompany the disorder can keep people from acknowledging they have a problem. Individuals may in fact see their eating disorder as a badge of self-control. Those with binge-eating disorder may feel too ashamed to seek help. Therapy cannot help those who do not avail themselves of it.

How long does therapy last for eating disorders?
Because of their complexity, recovery from eating disorders is usually a long-term process—measured in months and years— often marked by setbacks and relapse. Some form of help, such as individual or group therapy, may be advisable for much of that time. It is a general rule of thumb that the longer the illness has endured and the dysregulated eating behavior has taken root, the longer treatment is likely to be needed.
