Hi! I use a very honest, warm and strength based approach with my clients. I invite my clients to build on both internal and external strengths. I also encourage open and honest conversations, to support my clients while tapping into those feelings both in the past and now. My approach is collaborative, and my goal is to play a part in helping you improve all aspects of your life whether in relationships or difficult circumstances.

I am passionate about the therapeutic relationship. This work entails identifying issues and concerns and processing them in a constructive way. I am interested in holding hope for you on this journey, even when you are feeling hopeless. I think it is important to understand the connection between the mind and the body as well as the past and the present as challenges are confronted. I have many years experience counseling children, youth, and adults. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am also experienced in working with people from multi-cultural backgrounds. I offer a broad spectrum of approaches to help you understand yourself and make positive changes that will make your life a more fulfilling experience. I use a variety of techniques including psychodynamic, behavioral, and cognitive therapy as well as mediation and conflict resolution techniques.

Stress changes us physically. Exposure to stressful situations instantly triggers measurable physiological changes in body. Stress changes our brain and body chemistry, affecting how we think, feel, and see the world! Stress cannot always be avoided, but it can be controlled. I have worked with a wide variety of clients, all of whom have been in different stages of change readiness. I work with all ages as young as 6 years of age to over 60 years of age. My clients struggle with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, ADHD, relationship issues, grief and loss due to illness, injury, death and life transitions, as well as adjustments to positive transitions, such as job promotion, new business, or marriage. Whatever the issue we will work together to find the client's best solution.

Emphasis is on an esteem building, positive psychology approach - not only minimizing the impact of internal and external weaknesses* but also building your strengths - what else is going to bail you when times get rough! *And yes, it's OK to have weaknesses. No human is without. To say, "I have weakness," is not to say, "I am weak."

Past traumas do not need to limit you or your family now. EMDR has been shown to effectively resolve past traumas and provide new ways of relating to the present moment. Internal Family Systems brings awareness to the complexity of the human psyche and promotes your innate spiritual resources. Art and play therapy use the power of creativity to bring a fresh view of what's possible. I use all these methods and as well as a a focused, compassionate approach to help you reach your desired outcomes.

I work collaboratively with my clients to support them in reaching their specific goals in life. Every person is unique and will experience an individualized approach that is best suited to their needs and preferences. By treating each person as a unique individual I respect the person's autonomy and am able to support the person's own capacities for change and healing. I am also pragmatic in my approach which means I use what works. I am flexible in how I approach treatment. This flexibility extends to how I provide counseling as well. I am available evenings, in person as well as by telehealth.

When everything falls apart you are not alone. Often reaching out for help can be the first step in renewing, replenishing, and revitalizing your life. Psychotherapy is one way to gain the strength and support you need. Many of us suffer quietly with feelings of hopelessness and loss. Therapy can bring life back into focus and helps us regain our sense of balance.
