The most common behavioral health issues Karla sees people for are post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, ADHD and/or substance use. “With substance use, it could be that someone is starting to have problems and wants to talk to a professional, or it could be a situation where a person has been in recovery and slipped back into using substances,” Karla says. “One in three people will experience a mental health issue in their lifetime. We are able to provide them with the understanding and help they need to feel better.”

I also have experience working with youth sex offenders in a long-term residential treatment program and people who utilize Developmental Disability Services with the State of Nebraska. I have a passion for serving populations who are oppressed and discriminated against.

Our children and families can be healthy and healing. I work with birth parents, adoptive parents, and foster parents to help their children and teens have the best life possible. I have a heart for foster and adoptive children and teens. I particularly enjoy identity development, and launching into adulthood.

I am a Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and a Provisional Licensed Master Social Work. I believe that healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires honest caring without judgment, and I cooperatively assist my clients in clarifying their goals for treatment.
