Over the past 32 years, I have had the amazing opportunity to collaboratively work with clients, being supportive and providing gentle guidance as they learned to identify, clarify, and develop effective coping skills to manage and resolve the stress in their lives. When working with clients, I see people as unique individuals who are trying to find their own meaning for their lives and a purpose in life. Through therapy we can learn so much about ourselves and our goals which we might not even be aware of up to this point. Part of my belief in therapy is centered in the idea that each person is capable of reaching their desired self or achieving self actualization. I believe individuals and relationships are trying to find their best possible versions of self. In my practice I emphasize promoting communication and emotional awareness.

I have personal experience in therapeutic work with adults and families, as well as working with students at these grade levels: Middle, high, and college ages. I have 23 years experience working with the special needs population. Preventing bullying is my passion, so it is no wonder that, for the past twenty years as staff and student, I have advocated for many who were bullied and treated unfairly.

My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and non judgmental environment in which one can develop insight, build healthy relationships, and accomplish desired goals. I see counseling as a collaborative process and my eclectic approach to therapy is tailored to meet your needs. I have over 15 years experience working with teens, children, adults, and families.

The therapeutic process is a highly personal and fulfilling experience. Understanding our needs and what motivates us through our daily experiences helps us appreciate and live life on a higher level.

I provide play therapy and counseling for children and adolescents as well as their parents and families. I also provide therapy for individual adult Clients. It has been my joy to walk with Clients towards their personal therapeutic goals for wellness and mental health with empathy and insight for over 21 years in the behavioral health field. My therapeutic focus is to compassionately assist you in identifying your strengths and current developmental processes and how various internal thought patterns, events, or choices might be interfering with your present wholeness and ability to experience life to the fullest.

I believe that at the root of many of our struggles is a deep desire to be listened to. My therapeutic work is based on the idea that people by nature are relational beings with physical, spiritual, emotional, and social components, and that the exploration and integration of these aspects can be life changing and enhancing.
