Specializing in Teens & Young Adults: However isolated they appear, I hold a strong belief that young adult emotional and behavioral struggles are primarily a reaction to family influences. To fully support this population in reaching their potential, their challenges will need to be looked upon in the context of family, so to identify how such strife continues to be reinforced. This systemic approach to therapy paves the way for greatest insight to be gained by those who really matter, allowing for symptom reduction and ultimately greater relational harmony.
With a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, I employ use of Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Experiential Therapy to help shed light on the interplay of their emotions and behaviors.
I bring a genuine, seasoned approach infused with optimism and humor to the relationship, so conducive to progress. Awareness is just the beginning of the journey; from there one can begin however to see not only their distorted reasoning but alternative behavior that propels them toward true independence.
