My background includes training in physiology and psychology allowing me the ability to use a holistic, mind-body approach in my practice. In my work with children, I do play therapy at my play clinic in Aurora. I see adult clients for psychotherapy at my office in Glendale. The type of therapy I do is deeper work to reach the root of one's problems. In addition to working with survivors of trauma, I work with people who experience delusions, hallucinations, and psychosis.

My hope is to guide those in need towards a functional way of living that increases enrichment, a sense of accomplishment, and identity. I feel that everyone deserves the chance to function as their own advocate and my role is to help facilitate that opportunity with an individualized approach. I believe that all human beings strive for a sense of connection. Too often in our society, we feel that we must place our issues aside and push forward, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and disconnected. While this method of coping is effective in the short-term, eventually these issues become unmanageable and feel too much for one person to hold. Therapy then provides the space to reconnect with yourself, your loved ones, and the outside world in a safe, non-judgmental space.

I tend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of a person as I believe they are all interconnected. I believe unprocessed trauma is often at the root of many mental health symptoms. One may develop coping mechanisms that helped them make it through traumatic experiences, there is no shame in this. I believe this shows the human spirits ability to protect itself.

Grief is not about "getting over it." It's not a medical condition that needs to be cured, nor does it fit into a box. It is about loss...a break up, death of a loved one, end of a friendship, job loss or the end of a career, divorce, or the loss of a dream. Some days it may feel like you are drowning in a tidal wave of sadness. Other days, a pocket of grief envelopes you because of a song, smell, or memory. You grieve as deeply as you love, and your grief demands to be felt!

Maybe society has told you that you are different, weird, or wrong. Perhaps you have developed a critical inner voice that tells you that you aren’t good enough. Shame can make you feel unworthy of the love and respect you deserve. Together, I believe we can overcome that shame and work towards self-love and empowerment. I am passionate about working with transgender and gender-nonconforming folks, individuals who work in the sex work industry, and folks who are struggling with all types of trauma. The therapeutic interventions that I use are emotion focused, and incorporate CBT and DBT therapy techniques. I also use child-centered play therapy with children.
