Together, we'll work to understand the function of your patterns, regulate emotions, process past pain, explore identity, develop executive functioning skills, resolve guilt or shame, process family dynamics, improve distress tolerance, enhance communication, and address intimacy challenges. In counseling teens and adults, I use cognitive, behavioral, relational and mindfulness-based approaches to explore how past experiences may be influencing patterns of avoidance or self-protection, negative thoughts, OCD-tendencies, impulsivity, sadness, worry and little to no pleasure in life.
I use trauma-informed care, attachment-focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and the foundations of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you gain clarity around your relationships, thoughts, behaviors, emotions, develop effective self-care skills, and build coping strategies for stressors.
My approach is warm, engaging, direct, and compassionate, using insightful questioning, reflective listening, and collaborative dialogue to create a space for introspection, mutual understanding, and meaningful resolution. I affirm and support clients who identify as BIPOC, AAPI, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent.
