As a mixed Asian, Native and white therapist with alternative spiritual views, and is close with the Latina/o/x community my practice is rooted in values of empowerment, empathy, and authenticity with an anti- oppressive lens. I work with neurodivergent, creative, highly sensitive, depressed and anxious human beings who want to connect more deeply with themselves.

Sometimes, we have a problem that needs an outside perspective that allows ourselves to resolve it and move forward. Sometimes, we just need confirmation that what we are thinking is real and justified. Whether it is anxiety, depression, relationship issues, suicidality, or changes in life you are dealing with (like empty nesting, retirement, moving from home, elderly care) are all things we need help to transition into. I can help you navigate them collaboratively, and with your narrative in place.

Informed by liberating-direct-action with workers, survivors of mental health incarceration, and skilled professionals, I value lived-experience just as much as highfalutin philosophy. I believe in the universal human drive to transform + heal through caring community connections, self-awareness, access to dreams by way of meeting basic needs, and the responsibility to recover personal and collective strengths. Healing of the self is healing of communities, and ultimately our interrelated societies. In place of paternalism, I offer avenues for developing your self-trust.

Fatima’s therapy practice focuses on implementing Art Therapy directives, Trauma-informed care, Attachment-based theory, Experiential, Spirituality/holistic approach and Person-centered theory. Fatima is the Owner of Medicine Heart PLLC. Fatima has a M.A in Clinical Mental Health counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy, Chemical Dependency, and Somatic-Interventions.

At my core, I am a relational therapist and do my best work with couples, non-monogamous romantic partnerships, and families of all forms, including co-parents who are no longer in romantic partnerships. I believe that systemic therapy is a way to create meaningful change and get unstuck from the patterns that no longer serve us.

I would love to work with you on the things that hold you back. Reclamation of personal power will be the basis of our work together. We will explore relational systems such as justice and culture, and the role of the self within these systems. By re-imagining yourself as a cherished and sacred part of the whole, you can heal the wounds that have drained your precious energy and afflicted you with false negative narratives. Together, we will find out what your story truly has to tell us, and rewrite it for your benefit!

My healing work emphasizes mind, heart, and body balance. I can assist you in the understanding of your own complex internal worlds, relational dynamics, work sagas, or developmental and inter-generational trauma. You can disrupt unwanted patterns and improve communication in your relationships and expressions via diverse interventions from a synthesis of modalities and practices, we will practice these skills together. You are the expert of your experience, I will support you in trusting and loving yourself. With curiosity and compassion, therapy can empower you and help you gain more from life.

The clients I work with are seeking to identify, self-determine, and develop processes to help them manage their struggles and issues. They utilize their natural supports, gifts, and graces to work toward their chosen goals and the changes they seek to make in their lives. Each human being is unique and their life experiences are unique to them. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and exist in a judgment free space when working on mental health or life challenges.
