Hi there, I am Vanessa, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and certified nutritionist (CN) who works with adult individuals and couples in Washington. I graduated from Bastyr University with a MS in nutrition and a MA in counseling psychology. I utilize an integrative approach and aim to create an honest, open, and supportive environment for us to explore your current concerns and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. My hope is to support you in finding your own personal values and meaning in life, and process hardships you may be facing that challenge your ability to be and feel like your authentic self.

I have a passion for working with children, teens and adults. I also enjoy parent coaching and executive functioning coaching. I regularly work with clients on stress management, self-esteem, life transitions, grief/loss, anger management, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD and ASD. I also love working on social anxiety, social skills, boundary setting, relational issues, and communication issues.

My goal is to assist my clients with healing from old wounds, coping skills, adjusting to life transitions, goal setting, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and provide encouragement and compassion along the way. My passion is listening to others, offering support and empowering you to reach your goals whatever they may be.  I have an extensive background working with all ages but my focus is working with women and men between ages 18-55 yrs of age. I genuinely enjoy working with clients to help find hope, peace and acceptance of themselves and difficult situations.

Individuals, couples and families are all seen as my ideal client. I typically see clients from the ages of 13 and up, but I do make some exceptions. Clients who are having difficulties with communicating their emotions, identifying their strengths and their core self, or having dysfunctional dyadic or family patterns are clients who I know I can help. Clients coming regularly and genuinely working with me to accomplish the goals we set out at the beginning of therapy are ideal. If you want to better yourself in any way, shape or form, I will be the person who will try my best to help you become the better self you aspire to be.

Are you worried about your child’s emotional well-being or social skills? I enjoy working collaboratively with children and parents alike to improve child and family well-being, often finding that working with both provides the best outcomes for everyone. I have special interests in working with gifted and twice-exceptional (2E) clients and homeschool/online school clients. Lastly I absolutely love working with teenagers and young adults - they make up a large part of my caseload!

Immediate openings available! I specialize in perinatal mental health, but enjoy supporting parents all along the spectrum of their journey to growing a family. I have specialized training and experience working with people that are facing the challenges of trying to conceive, pregnancy/postpartum, unexpected birth experiences, parenting small children, and loss. In addition to this speciality, I have focused my work in supporting children and adults around themes of trauma, attachment challenges, mood issues (depression/anxiety), identity exploration, self-esteem, relationships, body image, parenting, spirituality, and grief/loss.

Accepting New Clients! Taryn is a LMHC with over six years of experience in outpatient and inpatient settings. She works with a variety of mental health issues specializing in high conflict couples therapy, interpersonal relationships, and complex trauma work. Additionally Taryn works with depression, anxiety, suicidality, self harm, self esteem, cultural differences, communication, faith and spirituality, and identify exploration. She works with adults and adolescents. Taryn seeks to understand the whole person (mind, body, soul, and spirit) as she believes holistic mental health care consists of the mind and body connection.

I love working with folks across the lifespan (kids, teens, parents, adults)! Therapy provides tools to better navigate life’s challenges. I am passionate about helping my clients to overcome negative thought patterns and emotional hurdles like anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression. Through empathetic listening and fresh perspectives, I offer a safe space for growth and healing. My core belief is that while life's events are uncontrollable, our responses are within our power. My work uses the Incredible Years Parenting Curriculum, Play Therapy, ACT, CBT, DBT, and ERP. Parents are regular collaborators during child/teen therapy.

Serving people for 30 years in various settings (hospitaIs, schools, outpatient), I have learned what skills, attitudes, and attributes contribute to our sense of well-being and purpose and what boosts our confidence in handling life challenges. Youth as well as adults will understand the connection between feelings, behaviors and thoughts and modify those that don't work well for them. Whether a crisis, divorce, or relationship problem at home or school, difficulty being the parent or partner you wish, or self-sabotaging behaviors, I will help you harness these situations, and use them as springboards to becoming the person you most want to be.

I enjoy working with adolescents, teens and adults and couples struggling with depression, bipolar, anxiety, disordered eating, relationship issues, and adjustment to life transitions. I’ve worked in the middle and high-school settings, helping adolescents and teens address issues of low self-esteem, stress and anxiety, lack of academic motivation, bullying, peer pressure, anger management, and family problems. Having had personal experience with infertility, I have a passion for working with those struggling in this area, helping them with the feelings of frustration, stress, loss and relationship challenges.

Heather's background in developmental approaches gives her an interest in working with clients of school age and above, and of differing cultural backgrounds. She has extensive training in mindfulness approaches, and uses a present-centered approach, combining it with strengths-building techniques. Heather specializes in working with those who struggle with PTSD, complex PTSD, anxiety, OCD, body-focused repetitive behaviors, and depression, among other mental health struggles. Heather is LGBTQIA+ -affirming.

With a deep understanding of the complexities of human sexuality and relationships, I strive to help my clients navigate through their challenges and towards a healthier, more fulfilling life. Whether you’re dealing with sexual dysfunction, desire discrepancy, communication issues, or relationship conflicts, I am here to provide guidance, support, and effective strategies.
