Dr. Artico has over 20 years of experience helping couples, adults and teens become who they were meant to be. She is the director of Gainesville Family Counseling, has taught at George Mason University, and is the author of the book Latino Families Broken by Immigration. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFT), clinical supervision, and sandtray therapy.

Maclovia has over twenty-five years of experience in the mental health field, and more than twelve years as a licensed professional counselor. She is a licensed professional counselor in the states of Virginia and Georgia. She is also a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. She has worked with adults, children, and families in private to non-profit settings, specializing in clientele dealing with depression, anxiety and trauma. Her therapeutic approach involves modalities such as CBT, EMDR and Positive Psychology.
