Ms. Shalanda Jackson, LCSW, CSOTP and a graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Jackson has an extensive mental health service background and worked in various capacities as an outpatient therapist, crisis services supervisor and sex offender treatment provider. Ms. Jackson is passionate about working with individuals who have an extensive history of trauma, relationship issues, anger management issues and incarceration.

I am dedicated to helping my clients identify their potential, and opportunities for positive change. I help clients attain their counseling goals through cognitive behavioral therapy principles, with a person-centered approach.

I am an LCSW who has been a practicing social worker for 14 years in the medical and community settings. My social work background includes foster care, child welfare, adoption, juvenile justice system, medical social work, case management, and individual, family, and couples therapy. I work with diverse populations and backgrounds. I also have experience working with children with varying behaviors and mental health diagnoses.

Jaclyn Boykin is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has 5 years of experience working with adults, children, families, couples, and the military who are seeking help with depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, parenting, and serious mental illness. Jaclyn completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology at Troy University and her Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Psychology at Walden University. She is currently working towards her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Counseling Education and Supervision at Walden University.

It can feel like you are stuck, unmotivated, frustrated and don't have the energy to make the changes you desire or not being sure of what changes you need to make to live a fuller, more complete life. You may also feel overwhelmed, anxiety filled, doubt in yourself and your abilities, anger/irritation, and setting impossible goals for yourself.

I am a psychotherapist who enjoy lighting the path for others. I believe you are the authority over your own life but sometimes you need someone objective to help you look from the outside in. Coupled with my clinical expertise, I am emotionally attuned to others. I often recognize others’ feelings and intuitively understand where these sentiments come from. As a result, I often know what to say to help find solutions that address the individuals’ concerns.

Therapy often focuses on life’s biggest challenges and difficult emotions, but that doesn’t mean therapy has to be a distressing experience. I work with adolescents and adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, adjusting to life changes, addiction, and PTSD. I specialize in treating trauma and utilize Cognitive Processing Therapy to guide individuals through reprocessing what they have experienced in order to cultivate healing and growth from their traumas. I have helped survivors of a wide variety of traumatic events including but not limited to; sexual assault, childhood abuse, combat related trauma, and domestic violence.

Life is messy. And hard and complicated. It doesn't matter if you are a kid, a parent, a teen, or adult we all thrive when we have relationships to connect us to ourselves, families, and our world during stressful times. What I do best is create a space (physical or emotional) for healing within ourselves and relationships. I work with people of all ages, and especially love working with kids and their caregivers, to focus on healing and understanding.

Catherine Chewning is a Supervisee in Social Work in Virginia who has been practicing since 2011. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology in 2007 and began to work full time at Virginia Treatment Center for Children after volunteering there prior to graduation. After three years, she resigned to complete the practicum requirements to obtain a Master's in Clinical Social Work. Catherine has worked with a diverse population of children from inpatient care (residential and acute) to a juvenile detention center, to public schools within different counties.
