I am I am a strengths-based psychotherapist, a mother of three wonderful adult children, who returned to graduate school late in life with a strong belief in the "land of possibility." I have great respect for what each individual brings to therapy and faith in the power of relationship to effect growth and change. I believe that my sensitivity to need, whether in very young children or mature adults is a unique gift that brings hope to life. I recently completed a mindfulness and psychotherapy course and strongly believe in its impact on depression and anxiety. I firmly believe in treating the whole individual, body and mind.
I have worked in a variety of settings: home, community, group home, and hospital, and outpatient therapy. I love being able to work with all age groups and diverse challenges. At this time my client population is predominantly adult. I believe I am especially sensitive to diversity of sexual identification, culture, and lifestyle.
I recently completed a retraining in EMDR for trauma and have also completed a class in yoga skills for therapists. Currently, I am studying to become a mindfulness educator . I am available for more individualized interventions such as therapeutic walk and talk . Along with talk therapy you will receive tools and techniques for managing anxiety, etc.
