Hi! My name is Shakira Miller, Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Perspective Counseling and Therapeutic Services. My ideal client is one who wants to building a collaborative relationship that will help to foster change. I believe that most of the work of therapy happens in between sessions, so my clients will benefit if they are willing to practice the things that we agree will be helpful. I am less focused on diagnoses than beliefs, feelings, and behaviors that are amenable to change. I am hoping that my clients have decided that they are willing to be vulnerable at this point in their lives and that they are open to having me participate in their journey toward a more effective life strategy.

I believe that feeling heard is a crucial step toward mental wellbeing. I prioritize meeting clients where they are and understanding how the world around each person impacts them. Shayna (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia who specializes in depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, bipolar disorders, and more. Making the choice to attend therapy is often a significant step, and Shayna strives to create an environment where her clients feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves without judgment.

I am Shannon Fowler. I have a PhD in clinical psychology. I try to approach therapy as a collaborative process with each person. I also try to create an environment that is safe and respectful. I have experience entreating many different types of mental health concerns like depression, anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders. I also have experience helping with behavior change around medical issues like diabetes, obesity, chronic pain, etc.

Ms. Adebayo served in the United States Army before retiring at the rank of 1SG (E-8). She's a graduate of the University of Southern California where she received her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Adult Mental Health and Wellness and holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. As a Master Level Clinical Social Worker, she is deeply committed to serving individuals, families, and couples in their mental health and wellness journey. She continues to have strong counseling abilities, helping clients recognize and identify behavioral patterns, troubling emotions, and thoughts.

Please note that I am only doing telehealth right now, I do not file insurance claims for clients (but can provide the information needed to do so), my 2024 fee is $175 per session, and I am only licensed to work with Virginia residents.

I offer both individual and couples counseling to adults of all ages, also teaching mindfulness meditation when desired. In addition to ameliorating symptoms, decreasing emotional pain, and helping to solve difficult problems, therapy and meditation can facilitate significant personal growth and increased wellness. My approach is broadly humanistic, meaning we seek together in a safe and secure environment, mutual understanding of you as a whole person, honing your internal "voice" and tapping into your existing strengths.
