Dr. Ragan A. Lybbert has been practicing therapy since 2016. Ragan is deeply passionate about taking couples who are feeling hurt, distant, alienated, disconnected, or are struggling with communication, and helping them heal, strengthen their relationship, draw close to one another. Dr. Lybbert excels at helping each partner feel safe, secure, and connected. Ragan also loves working with individual clients who have a variety of mental health concerns. Using a wholistic approach, Ragan works with clients to get them on a path where they can feel happy, healthy, and good about who they are.
I have a broad foundation of training: a master's in counseling psych (Chaminade University) and a PhD in marriage and family therapy (BYU - the top MFT program in the nation at the time). I offer a breadth & depth of knowledge to help clients through their healing journey and am passionate about therapy. I have also completed a number of clinical trainings.
Beyond my education, I have a lot of life experience that allows me to understand and connect well with clients & the difficulties they are experiencing. I know what it is like to lose a loved one, experience trauma, be close to & a part of a divorce etc. Additionally, I know well what the difficult road to recovering from those kinds of experiences is like.

I primarily use EFT for couples work and relational work in general. In individual work I use attachment theory and the focus on emotions from EFT in much of what I do, as well as existentialism to guide my work.

I often focus on emotions and use emotions present in a client's life, and those they bring into the therapy room to guide my work. I view nearly everything going on, at least in part, through an attachment lens. I often use EFT to guide my therapy regardless if it is a couple or an individual with whom I am working.
