Village Counseling is a group of mental health counselors specialized in working with families in the perinatal period, including with pregnancy and infant loss, pregnancy after loss, parenting after loss, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (formerly maternal mental health).

I am a licensed psychologist who specializes in treatment for children and adolescents (including young adults up to age 25) and their families, especially regarding trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and mood disorders. I have an extensive history of working with issues related to history of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, OCD, and issues related to abuse, death, and divorce. My primary objective is to improve family functioning and overall quality of life. I am passionate about helping individuals and families work toward their vision of cohesion and happiness.

I firmly believe in EMDR and its effects on emotional healing. I also believe strongly in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect your well-being so you can change them to improve your life.

I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling at Southwestern Adventist University while working at the local mental health authority Pecan Valley Centers in Cleburne, TX. I worked as a case manager, LPC-Intern, and an on-call crisis responder. I was trained using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) among many other trainings. I worked at The Johnson County Children's Advocacy Center as a counselor where I was fully trained in Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TFCBT) and Play Therapy. At the advocacy center I worked primarily with youths who suffer from trauma.

I am trained in TF-CBT and an LGBTQIA+ friendly counselor. Additionally, I utilize play/activity therapy for kiddos who are in need of services.
