Therapy is a partnership in which we take the time to slow down together and look compassionately at what’s happening inside of you and in your relationships. It’s a courageous act in service of becoming a fuller version of you.

Taking the first step to initiate therapy can be hard as facing our problems may feel scary and challenging. Therefore, I try to create a safe space for clients and make this process as smooth as possible. My approach to therapy is to help individuals build insight and self-understanding into their difficulties and patterns, and help them move from feeling “stuck or lost” to feeling encouraged and empowered to make the changes they want and need to have a fulfilling and satisfying life. In sessions with me, you will find warmth, support, empathy, genuineness and honesty, a splash of humor, as well as some challenging conversations.

Being a human is complicated. We all can use someone to help us sift through the noise and connect with our inner truths. Good news: the mind is hardwired to heal itself. Given the right conditions, we are all naturally inclined to integrate the various parts of ourselves and find peace in our wholeness. My role is to foster these conditions. The therapy room is a spacious place, free of judgement and full of care, where any and everything you show up with is welcome. I am genuine and direct with my communication, and also recognize that, ultimately, you are the expert on your own life.

I firmly believe we are created to live life in the present with joy, peace and love. However, we are inundated with media, messages and influences that leave us stressed, anxious and overwhelmed. We strive, push, and repeat unhealthy coping patterns. It is exhausting! Eventually, you find yourself lashing out at your loved ones, becoming judgmental, staying busy and disconnected, blaming others or being mad for reasons you can't remember. The patterns and ways of being can change, but it takes more than talk therapy.

Life does not come with an instruction manual on how we can best navigate through our journey. Instead, life is a learning process, and if we are lucky it can involve insight, positive change and personal growth. At times we are fully capable to balance ourselves, relationships, responsibilities, and our schedules - yet other times not so much. Unhelpful feelings such as stress, frustration, and discontent can too often resonate with us as we go about our daily routines. These potentially damaging reactions to life's obstacles can lead to making the once ordinary appear to be overwhelming or even unmanageable.

Struggle is a part of life, but our struggles can often make life feel overwhelming, stifling, or meaningless. It’s all too easy to get stuck in patterns of living and relating that feel like endless repetitions of old models that seem to generate more problems than they solve. Whether your goal is healing from traumas, improving relationships, addressing complex mental health concerns, or striving for a deeper and more meaningful understanding of life and yourself, I believe that therapy can be an invaluable tool for exploration, healing, and growth.

Relationship problems, struggles at work, and life events can challenge our ability to cope and ultimately to thrive in life. Patterns may emerge in your life that are confusing, that make you feel stuck, uncertain, and conflicted. Life transitions can tax our internal resources, and we may find ourselves lacking in fulfillment and happiness. Above all, I strive to support my clients to increase their life satisfaction, reduce their suffering, and strengthen their relationships and capacity for joy.

My desire has always been to leave people better than I find them. As research in the field of mind-body medicine is finding, emotions and thought patterns can contribute to imbalances within people’s minds and bodies. The beliefs you hold about yourself and the world, your emotions, your memories, and your habits all affect health outcomes. I will work hard with you to uncover what has caused stagnation or obstacles in your life and to bring back balance. While we know that there is no growth without some pain, sometimes we cycle through iterations of unproductive pain, which results in a loss of vitality and joy in our lives.

I work to create a highly collaborative and empowering relationship in therapy which emphasizes resilience, empowerment, and the ability to heal at any stage of life from experiences of trauma and abuse. My approach emphasizes in-depth exploration of mental health challenges with compassion and curiosity to not only manage symptoms of mental illness but also to identify and address the core emotional wounds underlying many of our most common mental health struggles. We work together to integrate the body, emotions, and mind to maximize a holistic approach to therapy and healing work.

Everyone goes through difficult times in their lives where they feel unsettled and unsure of their direction. These moments often come with feelings of anxiety and depression that can weigh you down and make you feel stuck. I want to help you move past these feelings and work toward the life you have always wanted. To do this I work from a person-centered perspective and feel that the relationship between therapist and client is of the utmost importance. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and couples dealing with depression, social anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, addiction, and relationship issues, just to name a few.
