I see individuals, couples, and families, providing a safe place to explore hurt and pain on your path to wholeness and peace. I am trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), EMDR, Murray Method Trauma Certified level 1 & 2, and implement attachment-based therapy in my practice. Serving as a nurse for 30 years allowed me to sit with people through some of their darkest moments, while providing encouragement and hope.

I am a level II licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor and certified anxiety- informed Professional. I offer a variety of video counseling services to include alcohol & drug assessment, substance abuse counseling, and a unique approach for managing anxiety. Working closely with physicians who prescribe Suboxone, we provide one of TN's premier outpatient options for opiate addiction. I typically work with issues concerning life transitions, addiction, couples conflict, and Family of Origin. I also love working with clients looking to detransition/desist. I have significant experience working with complex cases. Each client brings their individual stories into the room. By the time we seek help, life has typically not been going as we expected. We want to find a way out, but are unsure how to do so. What we need is someone to help us be a guide through to recovery. This is a life-long change that will need continued support. Not only is this our battle, but the battle of those around us.

My favorite part of what I do is getting to hear other people’s stories and how they came to be at the place that they are right now. All of us, including myself, have been through times when we’re hurting and we don’t know what direction to go. I often say, “The thing that is worse than hurting is hurting alone.” One of the biggest benefits of counseling is connection. They may be well into this identify or find themselves processing this new discovery. Common goals my clients have are to deal with overstimulation, recover from burnout, manage executive functioning challenges, find meaningful relationships, improve their communication, understand and cope with their emotions, manage their chronic health conditions, heal from trauma, and figure out who they are through this new ND lens.

After pastoring for 7 yrs and working on the mission field for 5 yrs, I found myself in a mental and spiritual crisis confounded by a crippling addiction. By God’s Grace, through wise counselors and taking healthy steps, I found healing.
