Men, in particular men of color, find seeking help as a sign of weakness. I am here to tell you that this is one of the bravest things you could ever do and the rewards are limitless when you face this challenge. Therapy can be scary new waters, but you reading these words now is proof that you have been brave enough to dip your toe in the waters of change- so jump on in- the water is just fine!

Welcome! I am glad you are here! I have a passion for helping people know themselves better and process their lives and concerns. I work with a variety of people with struggles such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, addiction, relationships, and more. I primarily work from a psychodynamic perspective that seeks to understand individuals’ unconscious motivations and desires that contribute to our conscious life. I am comfortable discussing any issue that you might bring up and can aid in helping you achieve a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Greetings! My goal is to walk with you on your journey to healing, wellness, hope, and strength! Do you have a goal of personal, emotional, or spiritual growth? I am not the mythical King Midas; everything he touched turned to gold. I am not a graffiti artist, trying to paint a happy face on something that sees itself as worthless. I am a custodian, wiping away the debris off of someone of immeasurable value; who does not realize his or her value. My goal is for patients to recognize their incredible worth, and the abundance of personal strengths and tools they have inside themselves. I want each one to be fully human, fully free, fully congruent (what you see is what you get, no pretenses), and fully alive as soon as possible.

Better self-awareness of your identities, roles, and personality styles and their impact on your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships can be empowering. I welcome both adults and adolescents to my practice. I work by creating a safe, affirming and warm environment for people to work on the issues they identify. I would like to work with people that want to explore why they are finding trouble in relationships or productivity to achieve an improved version of themselves.

I am a licensed counselor with several years of experience working in the field. I work exclusively with adults aged 21+ and consider it an honor and great privilege to be able to walk alongside my clients on their journey toward health, wellness, and success, no matter what challenges they might face. I have extensive experience in trauma-informed care which has proven to be helpful for numerous clients over the years who have been facing struggles related to early life trauma.

I specialize in treating adults with anxiety and trauma. Most people feel overwhelmed starting therapy, but we'll go at your pace. First, we'll get to know each other, building trust, and developing a plan. Next, we'll work as a team to practice new strategies, based in research, to create the life you want. I'll guide you through a process of change tailored to fit your particular identities and background (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sexual identity, religious affiliation, US native or non-native, etc.).

Reaching out takes great courage, especially when someone is seeking guidance. Life has the tendency to cause people to cope in ways that are not necessarily beneficial. They may develop problems like depression or anxiety as a result of stressors. Or, they may turn towards abusing substances as a way to change how they feel. Reaching out for help during this time may be scary and seem impossible. My goal, as a therapist, is to come alongside my clients so that they don’t walk alone through whatever may be troubling them. I hope to be able to help anyone struggling to deal with life on life’s terms.

Every counselor, if they are honest, is seeking a client who is intelligent, funny, motivated, and has strong interpersonal skills. I am happy to work with those people, but I specialize in the more difficult cases. I like working with people who have had bad counseling experiences in the past. Those who know that they need change, but are unsure how to go about making those changes. Counseling is a collaborative relationship. My goal is not to fix your life, but to come along side you and help you move forward one step at a time.

I have a passion for helping clients who struggle with unwanted negative moods such as anxiety, anger, depression, sadness…etc. I believe there is relief to be experienced from the struggles we face in life whether those struggles be fleeting or span decades.

I love working with anyone that feels like something has not been going right for them, be it for a long time or just a little while. I enjoy working with people that have anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment difficulties and people that just are feeling, again, like something is off. I seek to both equip my clients with the skills and tools they need to more effectively get through their lives as well as address inner difficulties so that the quality and satisfaction of life can be increased.

Making the decision to go to therapy is hard enough. Finding a therapist that you feel comfortable talking with about all the things in life that brought you to the office shouldn't be so hard. At Ellie Mental Health Pflugerville, we totally get it! Why? Because our therapists are just like everybody else! Being a therapist doesn't give us a "free pass" from all the struggles that can occur in life. That being said, we have the compassion, authenticity, and a sprinkle of humor to sit with you along your journey - no matter how big or small the issues you're dealing with.

For the past 28 years I have been assisting members in our community and surrounding areas with an array of mental health issues confronting them and their families. Working through the painful parts of life is a necessary step toward growth; however, making that first step can be daunting. I am a licensed counselor and marriage and family therapist with 34 years experience and am equally skilled in dealing with individuals and couples. The problems I deal with most commonly are anxiety, depression, panic attacks, bipolar disorder, individual growth, midlife issues, relationship problems, anger management, conflict negotiation skills, divorce adjustment, blended families and parenting issues. I provide Christian counseling if requested. When working with couples I use John Gottman's research based model for marriage counseling coupled with key concepts of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
