I use evidence-based practices with a unique and holistic approach to healing and understand the culture and language associated with veteran and first responder communities. Drawing upon my Native American roots, I incorporate indigenous techniques when appropriate for the client.

Hello Friend! My name is Monica Pina, owner of Pragmatic Solutions Therapy PLLC, a telehealth practice in TX. I serve adults and teens (15 years and older). I specialize in helping those dealing with anxiety, grief, trauma, depression, mood disorders, adjustment issues, anxiety, life transitions and health-related challenges. I use specific modalities specific to the client such as: Solutions Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive, Biofeedback, Humanistic, Acceptance Commitment therapy and a modified version of EMDR. Greetings to you! My core value as a therapist is that all clients deserve unconditional support and service. I am a POC (black and indigenous) and have vast experience counseling clients from marginalized populations and clients from 'alternative' communities. My approach is inclusive, trauma informed, and client centered; come as you are and know you will be in a safe, respectful, supportive space as we listen to each other and make progress in your therapeutic recovery.

My primary specialty is romantic conflict. Many persons I counsel are either "stuck" or at an impasse. They just cannot seem to resolve their conflict. They often see their issues worsen despite efforts. I address the root causes, matters that often go unaddressed. These root issues are often why couples continue to fight. These matters are so strong that they can take the best of romances and turn them into near hatred and disgust. My secondary specialty is emotional management, including with children. I primarily address regret, fear, anger, and anxiety, helping you understand and manage emotions that hold you back.

I am stoked working with an individual ready to look seriously into the root of the problem\s and follow suggested recommendations in order to make changes in her\his life.

My job is to help people live happier lives. My office is a continuing education service for all who enter. The goal for me, and hopefully for the person I am working with, is to learn from each other through the change agent of conversation. After 40 years of experience, my belief is that humans never really change until what they have done is working anymore, is broken, and/or gone. Thus change begins with loss, some small and some life ending. At these moments of transition, learning how to let go is the lesson, whether we like it or not. Whatever big change you are going through, positive or negative begins with an ending.
