Hello! My name is Antoinette Martinez. I founded Nourish Play Therapy LLC in 2015 to give children, teens, and their families a safe place to move towards social and emotional health and wellness. I combine play therapy with art, mindfulness, EMDR Therapy, and SandPlay to help children understand their thoughts, feelings, impulses, and needs. I also help kiddos discover their strengths and grow in self-control and responsibility. I have experience in treating life changes, trauma, abuse, neglect, self-injurious behaviors, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, adhd, autism spectrum, developmental delays, school adjustment, divorce and separation, and other behavioral concerns.

My therapeutic approach is Existential Phenomenological, heavily emphasizing Jungian psychology. I was introduced to Existential Phenomenology while attending the University of Dallas, where I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology. I obtained my master's in psychology at the University of West Georgia. Then, after several years, I returned to school to obtain a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Additional studies include play therapy, art therapy, SandPlay, family studies, psychophysiology, and neuropsychology. My eclectic tools range from expressive art therapies to cognitive behavioral techniques.

Life is everchanging. My clients are experiencing challenges that require them to change in order to go forward. Some clients are interested in dreams and personal growth over time. Others want some immediate support to help them sort out the difficulties they currently face: whether it be the loss of a relationship, a career, a difficult illness, or some other major change in one's orientation to life. I have a depth and breadth of experience working with people of all stripes and in both law and social work: that is, people who have been stuck in some very difficult places. I value individuality and wholeness--not perfection.

In addition to her traditional counseling and therapy (talk therapy) methods, she integrates art therapy for her clients, as well as in community art projects throughout her community.
