Hola. Tengo más de 9 años de experiencia proveyendo servicios de terapia a diversas poblaciones. Soy especialista en tratar ansiedad, trauma, y problemas en relaciones. Me apasiona ayudar a mis clientes a descubrir sus fortalezas y empoderarlos para que funcionen de la mejor manera posible. Todos tienen una historia importante que contar y un viaje único en el que se encuentran. Para mí es un honor escuchar y cuidar a cada uno de mis clientes durante su proceso de sanar.

My passion is to see my clients being successful in healing and thriving. From my experience, each individual has unique needs. I work with clients to address such needs with tailored therapies, counseling, and education. I am a bilingual therapist and counselor who approaches humans with empathy, dignity, and no judgment. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and see clients in both languages. I use evidence-based therapies to meet the needs of individuals, families, and groups.

Most sessions will be conducted via Telehealth. My goal is to help you gain the insight, clarity and understanding you seek to resolve relationship issues and/or decrease anxiety, depression and personality difficulties whether yours or those around you. I have many years of varied life experience including: having lived in Chad, Africa and Italy, raised a multi-cultural, blended family, went through divorce, step-children, life transitions and family of origin dysfunction. I am a LCSW (Licensed clinical social worker) since 2006 and have been employed with Samaritan Counseling since 2014.

Immediate appointments as of 02/16/24. As a counselor, I truly enjoy working with adults and children to overcome obstacles and situations that may have them "stuck" in unproductive and unhealthy cycles. I approach every client with respect and listen to their story to understand them fully and collaboratively work towards their goals. I believe the healing in counseling occurs in the process rather than the details of what has occurred.I see it as an honor to walk with my clients as they increase their awareness, improve insight, and develop into the best version of themselves as possible.

I help people who dream about achieving a balance in life, who seek to be their true authentic selves but hold themselves back because of fear, uncertainty or trauma they've experienced. Marcia Lara is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee who has been practicing since 1997. She has a Master's Degree in Counseling/Psychology. Marcia uses an eclectic approach to therapy, with the goal of using the most effective form of treatment based on the client's needs. She goes by the motto, "it is less important to the client how much you know, as compared to how much you care. " Marcia speaks fluent Spanish, and although she is not Hispanic has had many years of experience working with the Spanish speaking population. She specializes in the treatment mood and anxiety disorders.
