I have 15 years of experience working with children and adults and the best feeling in my professional life is when my clients no longer need me. I consider it a privilege that I can help people through difficult times, whether it's workplace stress, life-phase challenges, relationship issues, concerns with family dynamics, or anxiety / depression taking their toll on everyday functioning. As a primary therapist and sole owner of Broken Vessels Counseling, I am focused on only one thing, your success. I am passionate about walking along side the hurting, the lost, the captive, the broken, as they discover for themselves their own unique qualities that make them the treasured works of art they where always meant to be. It is my belief that through client centered individual therapy; "Team" oriented Family Therapy; and peer support group therapy; anyone who comes through our program and gives it all they have will successfully transition towards their desired goal in life, with new inner self awareness, esteem.

Hi I'm Leah, the owner, CEO, and therapist for Guided Path Counseling. I am happy to have so many wonderful therapists at Guided Path! We will make sure that you are paired with the therapist that best fits your needs. We have experience working with a variety of populations, including incarcerated, inpatient, couples, military, families, adolescents, and children. Besides traditional therapy, I offer assessments for emotional support animals and evaluations for gender affirming care procedures.

If you are struggling with anxiety and depression, I am offering intensive therapy. It is seven sessions dedicated to your growth and change. Please note that this therapy is for persons who are serious in making a positive change in their mental health. This approach is not a quick fix, it is intensive and requires commitment to change.

I am passionate about helping adults and children heal from relational trauma and move forward into relational health. I have a specialty in helping women recover from domestic abuse. I also work with children and teenagers who have experienced abuse and trauma or have high anxiety. I have additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), TraumaPlay therapy, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), Premarital Counseling, and Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy.

Tidal waves of stress strangle your focus and keep you from achieving any meaningful progress, anywhere in your life. These troubling thoughts are villains that moved into your mind without permission and have become the worst roommates ever. They’ve taken over your life and head space. Everything feels out of control. Hope is nowhere to be found. Paralyzed, without direction or purpose, just getting out of bed feels like an accomplishment. This is becoming your new normal.

Children often experience scary, confusing, upsetting, and traumatic things. You may see your child or teen struggling with negative self-talk, anger, sadness, trouble at school, trouble with siblings, difficulty with emotions, divorce, or loss of a loved one. As a parent, you may have read several books and articles, and still feel lost on how to help. I promise you that there is hope. I work with you, your child, and family to provide a path for growth, build a stronger connection, and communicate. Parents will learn how to be co-regulators, understand their children better, and how to set boundaries and deal with big behaviors.

My approach to therapy is rooted in connection and safety. I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship for healing and growth, and I strive to create a safe, accepting space for each of my clients. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, psychodynamic perspective, exploring with clients how past experiences, attachment, and trauma have impacted them. I believe in the importance of acknowledging the whole self in the healing process, and I often incorporate ideas from Somatic Experiencing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, playtherapy/expressive arts, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into counseling.
