I am a licensed mental health counselor in South Carolina. I specialize in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I am fluent in American Sign Language, thus, I am able to work with deaf individuals and those with hearing loss and their family members. I have experience working with a variety of populations and cultures in the community and school settings with issues that vary from life circumstance changes, emotional, mental and social issues. There are times when one is faced with issues and difficulties in which I can assist adults, adolescents and children in finding the balance they need in their life.

My practice name sums up my view that every person has the power to heal themselves and problems are simply symptoms of things that are going on. I specialize in child, adolescent and family therapy and have training in a variety of modalities. As such, I tailor my approaches to best meet your needs (CBT therapies, art and play therapies, behavioral approaches, social skills, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and trauma techniques). Therapy, in its truest sense, is not about comfort because it is never easy dealing with some of our areas but my goal is to make the process supportive and safe.

My ideal client is one seeking to find their own personal identity. I use a combination of theoretical approaches to accommodate the specific needs for each client. I always start with a client centered approach to build a trusting relationship. Once that is established I move into a psychoanalytic approach (counselor and client work to understand the inner life of the client through deep exploration of unconscious and past experiences). Once connections from the past and present are acknowledged, and understood, I end therapy using a reality based approach (focusing on the things in life we can control).
