In our 60 minute sessions you will find clarity, acceptance, and forgiveness.
I have a passion for working with those struggling with sex and love addiction, substance use, recovery, trauma, and those in the LGBTQ+ community. The therapy I provide is tailored to your individual needs and can help you facilitate personal growth and development. Therapy is most effective when you feel safe and respected. I would be honored to provide that space for you. I view my work with you as a collaborative process. I want to learn more about you and understand the problems you are facing from your perspective. All the work I do is meant to support your strength and resiliency. No problem is too difficult for me to handle.

My approach is intersectionality with my interventions of choice being: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Change Therapy (ACT), Feminist Theory, and Anti-Diet.
Hi Folx! Katie here! As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I provide an environment that supports you and your brave exploration of yourself. Change and healing are two of the most difficult things a person can do. I strive to be the type of therapist that provides the space to let you do this in the most supportive and validating way possible, without pulling punches. I believe the relationship between a therapist and client is one of the most important parts of fostering that change and healing process.

(Note: I am scheduling new clients for brief interventions (6-10 sessions) with appointments beginning in mid February). We live in catastrophic times. The world is in upheaval, and the system is more unjust than ever. Even before COVID, many of us were struggling to keep our mental health afloat; now we're are even more isolated, cut off from milestones and communal spaces we once took for granted. Struggling to survive, it's hard to imagine we could thrive.

*Accepting new clients* When we are running low on time, energy, and emotional capacity, we benefit from some support. Taking time to organize one's efforts and access additional resources can expedite growth, ease tension, and relieve distress. I enjoy creating a highly affirming and validating environment, a safe space where we are able to balance logical problem-solving, humor and positivity, as well as emotional processing. We will create clear goals and then make intentional progress toward those goals while being adaptive to what feels right and functions effectively for you.

“Yoga means addition—addition of energy, strength, and beauty to body, mind, and soul.”—Amit Ray, Indian author and spiritualist In order to get to the root of what’s causing your discomfort we have to go towards and not away. This is painful but will cause change. I’m going to ask you to share your story with me. But you don’t have to do it alone. I see myself as both a support and a fierce advocate for clients to assist with their growth and navigation through the barriers. Through the addition of support and guidance I can help increase your energy strength and beauty of your self as a whole.

Striving in the United States as a working-class Queer, I am driven toward the cessation of suffering through self-advocacy, social justice, and collective action. I have spent years working in community-health engaged in service of the marginalized, specifically LGBTQ and BIPOC communities, working-class individuals, people living with HIV, disability, substance abuse, and the intersections therein.

Teletherapy
Teletherapy and Online counseling have grown enormously as a medium for therapy since the advent of social distancing. Most therapists are happy to provide sessions by video or phone.

All professionals are licensed to provide video therapy to clients within the State in which they hold their license. Cross State licensing exists, but is rare.

So if you're a client in Pennsylvania, this list of teletherapists are licensed to provide therapy to you online (by phone, video or text based chat) because they are within your state. They are sorted nearest to furthest, with professionals in Pennsylvania listed first.

Teletherapy via phone or video can be very similar to conventional in person sessions. The message is the same, even if the medium is different. There are some advantages in the form of convenience, lack of travel and being in comfort of your own home. Set against those, professionals find it more difficult to read non-verbal signals of their clients, and you may find you yourself can be more easily distracted.
