Early in his career in urban youth ministry and later as a Clinical Supervisor in school based mental health, Cristhian developed a deep understanding of what motivates people to learn and grow. His understanding of human development and attachment theories serves as the underpinning for his work with children, youth and adults.

For all the conveniences and genuine marvels of the modern world, rates of stress, disease and mental illness continue to escalate, particularly in the wake of the collective trauma of Covid-19. Children, teens, and young adults have been especially hard hit. I work with individuals of all ages in diminishing feelings of alienation, fear, and hyper-reactivity and cultivating a sense of inner ease and well-being. Using play, talk and family therapy, we work together to understand the unmet needs underlying symptoms and figure out ways to address these needs via channeling the natural human instincts for growth and discovery.

I am a licensed professional counselor in both PA and NJ with a degree in counseling, trauma and crisis. I am also a Certified Autism Specialist who works with the neurodiverse population and sensory processing disorder. Dr. Yanet Vanegas is a licensed psychologist trained at Harvard Medical School’s McLean Hospital. She specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and perinatal (prenatal and postpartum) women, and uses evidence-based practices to treat depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, ADHD, self-esteem concerns, social anxiety, autism, and social skills deficits. Dr. Vanegas also received extensive training and is a specialist in the treatment of eating disorders and OCD. She owns a private practice, A Secure Base Psychological Service, LLC, in Tampa, FL, and can practice in 39 states.
