Many of my clients are veterans, police officers, fire fighters, teachers, 1st responders and spouses / children of individuals working in these stressful professions. I am both a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed clinical drug and alcohol counselor in the state of NJ. My 23 years of experience is primarily focused on treating individuals and families struggling with mental health issues (depression, anxiety, etc.) and or addiction.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) with extensive experience in the treatment of substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders (psychiatric & biomedical). I am an empathic, culturally sensitive practitioner who understands that the process of finding someone who understands life situations may become overwhelming. I work with each of my clients to make sure that they get the support they need to process their feelings and emotions. I specialize in adults who experience difficulties with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

With a firm belief in the interconnectedness of current symptoms and early childhood experiences, Dr. Spriggs guides her patients to comprehend the underlying factors shaping their thoughts, feelings, and understanding of their current situations. Her expertise extends, but is not limited, to substance abuse, childhood abuse, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.

Freshstart Referral Systems is a 501C3 faith-based non-profit organization that provides education & mentoring to individuals with life controlling issues, such as substance abuse/co-occurring disorders and or a history of incarceration. We provide individual/group support, we refer individuals to the appropriate treatment centers for help (Detoxification units, outpatient care, long-term inpatient treatment)… so that they may get a “FRESH START” again in life. FSRS also provides alcohol, tobacco, and other drug education for schools, churches and other organizations in the New Jersey and New York area.
