I have the honor of accompanying fellow LGBTQIA+ individuals of color, especially those moving through life transitions, first-generation undergraduate & graduate students, academics, artists, writers, and those holding intersectional identities rooted in multicultural and interracial families, partnerships, and transcultural and/or adult adoption. In addition, I work with couples as well as poly individuals and ethically/consensually non-monogamous partnerships.
I offer a unique approach to Brief Therapy that addresses current concerns, disempowers old stories, and strengthens your ability to care for your health in the long term. Rooted in Liberation Psychology, we will use strategies informed by your preferences, potentially including story-telling, journaling, mindfulness-based approaches, and/or EMDR Therapy.
A queer, biracial Black woman born into a multicultural family, one of my proudest achievements was when I became the first person in my family to earn a university degree. Eighteen years later I was honored to became the first person in my lineage to make the pilgrimage back to West Africa after more than two centuries of generations born in the U.S.
