My ideal client is grappling with anxiety, navigating significant life adjustments, or undergoing profound personal transformations. I know you're more than your story, your pain, joy, social identity & experiences. As a South Asian immigrant, I proactively advocate for my clients both inside and outside the therapy room. I will show up for you if you need help involving other family or partner participants in therapy sessions. I connect a session with the next session with a journaling prompt or a big feeling exploration during the week. I also make sure I do not abruptly end sessions and take the last few minutes to do some grounding and mindfulness exercises helping clients feel less overwhelmed when they leave the therapy room.

Dr. Shirin Zarqa-Lederman is a counseling psychologist specializing in trauma services and community psychology, holding a PhD in the field. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and licensed clinical drug and alcohol counselor (LCADC) based in New Jersey, working with clients globally. Prior to establishing her private practice, Dr. Shirin was a program coordinator for a NJ adolescent substance abuse program, where she developed treatment curriculum for group and family therapy. Later, she worked as a community liaison for this program and three others in New York, coordinating psychiatric and substance abuse care.

Dr Stephen J. Oreski is a doctoral-level psychotherapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, with a private practice in Paramus, New Jersey. With over 25+ years experience in counseling and psychotherapy, and specializing in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, he is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Dr. Oreski has presented at National conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of mental illness and trauma.

As a National Certified Counselor with advanced clinical experience through my Ph.D. studies, I have effectively integrated evidence-based approaches such as CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care into my work.
