“You need to get your shit together!” Your inner critic sternly informs you as you prop yourself up on your work desk and sigh wearily. Your chest tightens as your phone reveals part of another lengthy, panicked text from your mom about your brother’s latest relapse. Seconds later, you remember that you got a tad defensive with your partner yesterday, forgot to answer an email, and have 20 more things to add to your to-do list- all before you’ve finished your coffee. Your brow furrows as you hastily wrack your brain for a solution to stifle the lingering dread you can’t shake, while also trying to remember if you left the stove on.

Growing up I was always a good listener, but over the past 14 years as a therapist, I have dedicated myself to becoming a great listener. I know that asking for emotional help can be difficult, so when it happens, I want to be that person who can offer a platform for those who want to be heard. I work with adolescents and adults identifying barriers to success and then finding ways to knock them down. I will meet you where you are with empathy and kindness and support you on your journey to happiness and wholeness.

Over the years, I have worked with individuals who experience challenges with symptoms related to anxiety, who have been experienced challenges in relationships, and those who are wanting to increase stress management skills. Some folks seeking support during times of transition and some folks are interested in focusing on a specific area of their relationship with their partner or their coworkers. Together, we can determine which goals to focus on and how to best achieve the desired outcomes.

Sometimes what we need most is to be seen, heard, and appreciated just as we are. Through my own personal counseling and my professional training, I’ve witnessed the power of healing through connection with another and this is the foundation of my work as a therapist. When we are able to be vulnerable with another person, to be truly seen and heard it can be liberating. I bring this approach to my work with a variety of concerns including trauma, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, attachment wounds, emerging adulthood, and substance use.

Founded on a person-centered approach, I believe that the professional relationship is a large part of the therapeutic work. Although I integrate several evidence-based modalities including cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, somatic, psycho-dynamic, & motivational interviewing interventions, I welcome any presentation for both adults as well as youth.

I specialize in working with youth of all ages, from elementary age to teenagers. I take a casual, fun and relatable approach to therapy that allows youth to feel more comfortable in the space. I enjoy helping youth find their voice, improving communication and the quality of their relationships, becoming more mindful in daily practices, etc. I'm passionate about collaborating with kids and their families to manage anxiety, depression, trauma, or any other challenging life phases.

I draw from a variety of theories and techniques centering around talk therapy and include a solution focused, mindfulness, strengths based, and nonjudgemental approach. I believe that in working together we can make progress and improvements in the areas you are seeking help with, at a pace that feels good to you.
