I offer short-term & long-term therapy focusing on depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, LGBT and gender identity exploration, adoption and parenting issues, PTSD, complex stress and trauma, & substance use. As a clinician, I approach my work from a holistic, trauma-informed lens. An individual's mental health and overall happiness are based on a number of different factors that are unique to that individual. I often work with people to manage issues in their lives that have become difficult and distressing, such as separation/divorce, career/job changes, grief/loss, relocation, becoming a parent, and retirement. Some clients experience symptoms of anxiety or depression and we focus on realistic, practical strategies to reduce their intensity and impact. My approach involves closely assessing how these issues impact daily life, how relationships are affected, what support has or hasn't been available and then develop a plan for working toward changes and greater satisfaction in life.

I'm always honored to help adults and adolescents who are recovering and learning to thrive following acute and complex trauma. Traumatic stress reactions can take many forms including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, substance misuse, and difficulties in relationships. Through a careful assessment and individualized formulation, trauma-focused psychotherapy can help to address them all. I particularly enjoy working with those who have experienced or lost loved-ones through community gun violence and veterans with combat trauma or challenges reintegrating into civilian life.

I continue to be humbled by how life can take a completely different and unexpected turn within a few moments. Over ten years ago, I experienced a life altering loss that required me to lean on others and dive into deep self-reflection in order to heal. My hope and desire as a therapist is to provide the space and guidance that will allow you to grieve, process, challenge and change the way you engage with life. We may not be able to forget traumatic or difficult times or make certain stressors and tendencies disappear, but we can take steps and create habits that elevate us to our potential and find lasting and genuine fulfillment.

I understand that beginning therapy is not easy and takes many people out of their comfort zone. I believe in a warm and nurturing environment that allows clients to work at their own pace. Your journey is your own, and I offer a non-judgmental approach with each person I work with. I enjoy meeting with individuals, couples, and families. I have specialized training in Internal Family Systems (IFS). This model allows clients the opportunity to get to know each "part" of themselves and provides a way to regulate emotions and improve problem solving skills.
