Hi there! My name is Radha, I am a sex therapist who provides an affirming space for BIPOC Transgender, Non-binary and Queer/2SLBGIAA+ identified individuals and couples/triads/polycules to explore and understand sex/intimacy/sexual health and gender through trauma informed care. I provide a Feminist and Multicultural framework centering Pleasure as an everyday experience. I provide somatic and sensorimotor focused work exploring how current or past trauma impacts feeling present in your body and feeling attuned in your relationships. We will also explore how larger oppressive systems can interfere with pleasure.

Reaching out and seeking support for yourself can be extremely vulnerable and taxing, especially when you've already been trying to manage overwhelming emotions and the issues of every day life. You’re left feeling alienated and unsure if you will ever find the kind of true connection that you crave. You know deep inside that relationships and intimacy are meant to be wonderful…but something is holding you back. Fear of rejection. Fear of judgement. Fear of not being enough. As a sex therapist, I am trained to address sexual health issues and concerns. Often, we hold stigma around the topic of sex, but many mental health concerns can lead to sexual concerns, just as sexual health concerns can lead to mental health concerns. I offer a sex-positive approach and work with a variety of concerns and sexual minority populations. Whether your concern is a sexual dysfunction, needing gender-affirming care, dealing with relationship issues (including polyamory), exploring more about yourself sexually, discovering new kinks, or just needing someone to talk to, I am here to provide a safe and healing environment.

In my practice, I draw on my experience and training―but I believe the most effective psychotherapy focuses on developing fulfilling and meaningful connections. Research has shown repeatedly that the therapeutic alliance between therapist and client is a significant predictor in the success of therapy. As a coach and therapist, my approach centers around empowerment and the integral role relationships play in our lives. For over 20 years I have worked with individuals, couples and families. Because I also teach at the University of Michigan I have been trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques for working with everyone! I enjoy my work and I find that teaching provides a unique perspective to keep me up to date on new interventions which I often utilize in my private practice work. In 2013, I completed training as a sex therapist and sexual health educator. This program has given me highly specialized training in working with a variety of sexual health issues including low sex drive, fertility issues and everything in between!

I am most qualified to treat people who are having problems in living fulfilling lives because of troubling symptoms (e.g., anxiety, depression) or general dissatisfaction with themselves and relationships. I believe my treatment approach contributes to personal growth at any age. My rigorous training, 10 years post-Ph.D. has qualified me as a Training/Supervising Analyst who treats other therapists, and supervises other therapists--psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers in their work with adults, children and adolescents. As a Certified Sex Therapist, I treat sexual and marital dysfunctions. As a child psychoanalyst, I treat children and work with parents in parent guidance.
