Rick is well versed in traversing life's obstacles and assisting in overcoming many different types of challenges. With 25 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples. Rick specializes in working with borderline personality disorder, substance use disorder, and self-harm client Rick has experience working for multiple CMH’s in both Michigan and Nevada. Rick has worked in the emergency room providing emergency psychiatric care.

Together we can determine the source of your current concerns and develop a plan that we can work to understand the cause behind what you are dealing with and start building a working foundation and improve your life. I believe in creating a warm and safe place where people can feel comfortable working through their difficulties and emerge with new strength. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families on a wide range of personal and interpersonal issues. Some people have a clear idea of the problem they want to address, and others are simply experiencing too much difficulty and only know that something needs to change. In either case, I explore their individual experiences and perspectives, and what they would like out of the therapeutic process before collaboratively developing the interventions and tools that best meet their needs.

I work to create an environment that feels warm and supportive for each person. The relationship between the client and therapist is a true measure on how helpful the counseling experience will be for an individual. My goal is to guide and empower clients to make important meaningful changes in their life. I primarily use the methods of strength based and person centered talk therapy to achieve these outcomes. I believe everyone has the capacity to tap into the intuitive part of them self and use that wisdom to improve their life. People do have the ability to make positive changes in their life.

I am currently only accepting new patients for testing, not therapy. An important aspect of my practice is creating a space that allows us to explore the obstacles people face and develop tools to remove them. My primary focus is neuropsychological assessment for individuals struggling with a spectrum of concerns, including ADHD, Autism, and dementia. I am certified by the ACBIS and Brain Injury Association of America as a Brain Injury Specialist and work closely with other providers to ensure that all aspects of a person's health are addressed. I have also been certified by IBCCES as an Autism Specialist.
