I love helping clients who feel stuck with anxiety, depression, or trauma become “unstuck.” In my therapy space, I strive to create a supportive environment for people to explore their emotions – and the experiences that shaped those emotions. With individuals, couples, and families, I work collaboratively to understand how previous dynamics, especially with families of origin, contribute to their current thoughts and coping skills. When clients understand how their past relationships influence their current selves, they are better able to build new futures, with greater self-acceptance, growth, new skills, and overall happiness.

I am a Veteran Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with more than 30 years of experience providing mental health services in diverse settings including military, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, correction facilities, crisis units, and community mental health centers. I have experience working with juveniles, severely mentally ill clients, Active duty military, veterans, clients in the legal system, individuals and families. I earned my BS in Psychology from the University of Hawaii-West Oahu and my MSW from the University of Hawaii-Manoa.

I enjoy utilizing a blend of therapy approaches tailored to the needs of each of my individual clients. I am a firm believer of meeting a person where they're at while helping them understand themselves and the world around them. Whether it's processing emotions, providing education and support, helping those understand the impact of trauma, learning new and practical skills or whether it's providing practical and pragmatic advice - all of these are important in treating my clients as a whole.
