With 35 years as a teacher and clinician, I maintain a multi-specialty practice, applying the evidence-based principles of MI/CBT to problems ranging from sleep health, anxiety, cannabis misuse to sports performance. In addition to my expertise in health and sports psychology, I specialize in the assessment and treatment of individuals on the autistic spectrum disorder. I work with individuals of all ages, and adopt a shared decision-making approach to treatment, employing an array of evidence based best practices.

I help couples strengthen relationship skills and develop tools to end negative patterns and establish deep intimacy.

I work with teens and adults to initiate positive change by establishing a personalized treatment plan based on their individual needs. I bring judgement-free compassion and over 15 years of clinical experience in substance use and mental health treatment to help navigate the difficult terrain of addiction. I also work with families to help them identify their own recovery, learn how to communicate with and support their loved one while maintaining healthy boundaries.

I am a clinical psychologist who works with adolescents and young adults struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. In addition to working as a therapist, I hold faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital, where I previously worked as a staff psychologist and continue to serve as a supervisor. My experience in these roles enables me to work effectively with individuals whose distress is particularly overwhelming and incapacitating.

I am a Massachusetts-licensed Psychologist Provider with nearly 40 years of clinical experience. My clinical approach is individual psychotherapy (in contrast to other expertise such as psychological testing, DBT, CBT, etc.). I see individual adults to provide support and understanding of current challenges and symptoms including anxiety, depression, work or school issues, loss and relationship challenges. I see families referred by other clinicians. We will evaluate whether substance misuse (your own or that of a loved one) plays a role in your symptoms or distress.

As a clinical psychologist, I work with people to find ways to create change in their lives. Clients bring a range of concerns, from developing a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships, to adjusting to significant life events such as career change and retirement, parenting, divorce or marriage, or medical illness. While I may have access to experience and strategies that have helped others, I know it is my clients who are the experts on their own lives, and ultimately the ones who create their own change.

I view my work as a blend of art and science. My patients are generally competent, loving people who are struggling with painful issues related to relationships, work, sexuality, life changes and other stressful situations. The couples I work with are looking to heal and grow from a wide range of issues, from infidelity to parenting concerns. I help people who need to re-imagine what their relationship can be and want to expand their ability to communicate effectively.

The focus of my nearly 30 years in practice is to assist people who find themselves in common yet challenging transitions in their lives. These difficult "phase of life" transitions are often accompanied by painful adjustment experiences including relationship issues, confusion with one's role, interests, or even personal or work identity, difficulty making decisions or taking action, challenges with feeling productive and making a contribution, and finding peace in one's overall experience of life.

I work with my clients to create a safe and collaborative environment where they feel listened to and supported. My approach is solution oriented and client centered with a focus on helping individuals and families set effective boundaries, learn helpful skills and implement healthy changes to move towards their goals. I've received specialized training in a variety of therapeutic models and will work with my clients to determine the best course of action and treatment plan that is right for them.
