At Collaborative Change we work with adults, children, adolescents and families who face a variety of issues that prevent them from functioning at their best. Our goal is not to "fix" the people that we work with but rather to provide safe and innovative ways for people to collaborate with a therapist to create positive change for themselves. Our therapists are trained in a variety of approaches and techniques to help people reach their goals in their own unique way.

My name is Samantha Wright-Cooksey, MSW, LCSW. I have been a therapist for over 20 years with combined experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and their families. I have provided professional services in outpatient, home, community and school-based settings. I have worked in addictions as well as end of life issues. I utilize strength-based and solution focused techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and problem solving skills training. I offer in person and telehealth options for therapy. I accept most insurance, EAP, and self pay options.

Questioning your belief system or processing negative experiences that occurred in religious or tight-knit social contexts can be lonely and frightening. Those who speak up about their questions, thoughts and feelings, or traumatic events within the community often feel shame and isolation. Too often, they are left wondering, “Is something wrong with me?” This sense of isolation usually means people suffer quietly, feeling as though there is nowhere to turn.

We are a family oriented group practice comprised of several therapists with a variety of specialties, we offer in office, video and phone therapy sessions. We have therapists licensed in the following states: Indiana, Michigan, and Utah. We work with children, teens, adults and elderly adults in individual, couples, and family counseling. We work with substance abuse, trauma, grief, relationship issues, LGBTQ+, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and dealing with everyday issues and stress.

There is no such thing as an ideal client. That is too boring. The way I do therapy is relaxed. I am not your average therapist, and I am not going to be like, "How does that make you feel?" but I am going to say, "What up! How are we doing today?" I never stop learning, and when you have me as a therapist, you will see that you will fall back in love with learning. Overall, I am just honored you allowed me to help you! I have been providing individual and family counseling for 30 years, from a multicultural system perspective. Years of experiences has led me to believe that the most important aspect of counseling is to have a listening ear and the development of a trusting therapeutic relationship with a non-judgmental approach. I possess strong assessment skills for family conflict resolution and mediation. . Life transitions causes us to be in a storm or coming out of a storm, leading to life disruptions which can be extremely stressful; a skillful therapist such as myself can help clients to redirect and deal with a variety of traumas.

My clients are typically adoptees and/or their adoptive or birth families. I also see women who are struggling with burnout. Adoption is a life-long process that can create many challenges for adoptees. I “get it” on a level most therapists can’t because as an adoptee myself, I’ve also experienced those losses and the questions that come with them. I am in reunion and have been since I was 18. This has been a largely positive experience but has had emotional ups and downs through the years.

As your therapist, we will process anxiety, depression, past traumas, reroute negative behaviors, & learn how lived experiences impact the way you view the world currently. My clients often seek therapy because they are wanting to uncover the meanings behind their emotions; together, we are often able to uncover the meaning behind these emotions by better understanding past traumas encountered. Only then, can we replace negative behaviors that have stemmed from these traumas, together. I provide a safe & genuine space for LGBTQ clients & practice from an inclusive & client-centered perspective.

Faithful counsel sees individuals, couples, children, and families. We are trained to provide counseling for a range of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, addictions (from drugs & alcohol to sexual addiction), anger, marital strife & infidelity. The clients that present to our practice are interested in receiving counseling from a Christian worldview and biblical foundation. They understand that the wisdom of man is limited and that apart from God, we can do nothing.

I enjoy working with both complicated mental health concerns and generally healthy people struggling to adjust to their ever-changing lives. After identifying your goals in therapy, I will support you in understanding and overcoming barriers to these goals in the context of your life, mind, and body. The exploration this entails will help you generate self-compassion while accomplishing meaningful change. Your initial goals will be the focus of this exploration, but clients often achieve even greater change as well. I have particular skill working with personality disorders, sexual concerns, LGBTQ+ issues, and existential issues.

There are no ideal clients. I believe they are all interesting and they are all human beings; each with their own imperfections. I have learned to listen to them carefully and help them set their own goals. Many have daily life problems such as a depression caused by loss. Others caused by stress. Some have anger issues related to the childhood experiences, others related to frustration. Some come to me because of difficulties in a relationship. Some have difficulties with communication. All my patients want to be understood.

Stan Antonelli III is a Licensed and Academy Certified Psychotherapist and Clinical Addiction Specialist. Stan specializes in the treatment of co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. He has extensive experience treating incarcerated adult offenders as well as those struggling with anger management issues. Stan has advanced training in CBT, TF-CBT, Adoption-Competent Therapy, and the Minnesota Model of Addiction. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University and Andrews University in psychology, sociology, and clinical social work. He is a PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) candidate.

I have 25 years of counseling experience working with a variety of people who are struggling with mental health challenges including stress management, life transitions, depression, anxiety, marital and relationship issues and addiction challenges. I offer a caring and compassionate virtual office for clients to talk, learn new coping strategies and improve their quality of life.
