I have been working with Adults, Adolescents, Couples and Families for 20 years. I work with my clients to address any issues associated with depression, anxiety, bi-polar, personality disorders, trauma and addiction. I enjoy helping my patients identify the core issues that they want to address and develop skills and tools to help them successfully navigate through them for the rest of their life.

I have been practicing psychology very successfully in the Indianapolis/Carmel area for over 20 years. My story includes how I overcame my own struggles during a difficult divorce and the death of my father by using highly researched and validated techniques. As a result, I have mastered a clinically valid approach to overcoming life challenges. I believe my role is to serve as a facilitator to assist you in healing and realizing your true potential by developing the skill set to walk a uniquely determined path toward self-actualization.

Amanda’s (she/her) clinical interests include anxiety disorders, sexual and gender identity, eating and body image issues, fertility and family planning issues, the unique needs of high school and college students, and working with the LGBTQ+ community. She has over 10 years of experience working with a diverse range of individuals in terms of socioeconomic status, age, ethnicity, gender. Amanda is committed to providing supportive, affirming, and professional therapy services to assist individuals and families in improving their mental health, enhancing their life experiences, and empowering them to be a part of their own growth.

I am a trained EMDR therapist focusing on the treatment of trauma and its common co-occurring disorders such as substance abuse and personality disorders. While Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing was initially developed for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), it is still widely used to treat other common mental health issues such as: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, childhood abuse or neglect, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, panic disorders, substance abuse disorders.

I have extensive knowledge in trauma recovery, relationship issues, domestic violence, and addiction.

Sometimes we get stuck and feel trapped by our experiences related to substance use, addictive thinking, trauma, anxiety, depression and other addictive or high risk behaviors. I prefer to work with adults and older adolescents struggling with addictions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and trauma. I have a vast amount of experience working in the field of trauma. Due to my experience working in community mental health, I also work well with those with intense mental health and substance abuse treatment needs. I have worked both inpatient and outpatient experiences, resulting in my flexibility to help stabilize in a crisis and to work with individuals at any level. A client who desires to accept partnership and engage in being open to change is the most ideal client.

My ideal client is someone who wants to actively pursue new paths to find their true, healthy self. Ideally, ready to do the work. I am here to challenge cognitive distortions. I will be a partner in brainstorming issues and goals. Hard work from the client and support from an intuitive counselor will clear the path to the answers within.

My ideal client is someone who acknowledges a problem exists, even if they don’t quite know what it is. The source of that issue can be discovered and processed through therapy, leaving the client with effective tools and skills to cope with and manage their emotions.
