I have over 25 years experience treating adults, families, adolescents, and couples. I specialize in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and psychotic disorders. I am a published author who has presented my research on group psychotherapy nationally and internationally. I am also a licensed massage therapist who practices mind/body work. As a past board member with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and a past member of APA's Task force on severe mental illness, I am an advocate for individuals and families who struggle with the stigma associated with these disorders. When we feel less alone, we'll have courage to try what it's like to practice responses that won’t get us deeper into depression, shame and anxiety.

As an AASECT-certified sex therapist, I work with individuals and couples facing challenges regarding differences in sex drive, sexual pain & dysfunctions such as ED and vaginismus, issues with orgasm, and other issues related to intimacy and performance. While anxiety is not always the cause of these challenges, anxiety is certainly part and parcel of how they manifest. Therapy is geared towards optimizing mental and physical health, managing anxiety through lifestyle changes, improving communication with loved ones, and reaching for better quality of life, which frequently includes: better sex!
