Hello! I am delighted to introduce myself to you. My name is Li Drummond. I have worked with many different presenting issues including adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, suicide risk, stress, loss, trauma, struggles with drugs and alcohol, family problems, child welfare, family problems, offenders, and relationship difficulties. I feel comfortable working with clients ranging in age from children to adults and feel especially well-equipped to work with clients facing discrimination and marginalization including members of various immigrant communities, LGBTQIA+ clientele, black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC).

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me! My ideal clients are looking for a strength-based approach where they are more than a "psychiatric diagnosis." My clients come from many backgrounds - they are children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families - and are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, women’s issues, anger management, ADHD, autistic spectrum disorder, addiction issues, couples therapy, and working through LGBTQ+ issues. I partner with my clients in the change process and empower them through using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and other tailored approaches.

My ideal client comes from many walks of life. They are children, teenagers, and adults and present with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, relationship and family problems, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), school problems, and oppositional-defiant disorder. They all share a common need to be heard, empowered, and guided on the path of recovery. I provide evidence-based treatments tailored to the needs of my clients. I focus on strengths and capabilities rather than "illness."

My motto is "try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud". I enjoy working with individuals, groups, and families from all ages seeking ways to grow socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. I welcome all "walks of life" from various cultural backgrounds who are facing challenges with trauma, mental health disorders, autism, intellectual disabilities, youth in care, family dynamics, and many more. This office provides Telehealth Services (e.g., Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Texas) and face-to-face sessions.

Battling mental health struggles can be isolating and lonely. People can believe that no one knows what they are experiencing. You are not alone. As a therapist, I help adults dealing with anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, relational stress, life transitions, boundary issues, shame, and perfectionism. I received my M.A. in Counseling from Northwestern University and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I am trained in both psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I worked in a hospital system in the PHP and IOP level of care for 3 years.

I primarily work with teens and women across the life span who would like to incorporate their faith in their healing journey. We live in a fallen world, and God does not promise that we will not have trouble through the seasons of life like grief/loss, troubles in our marriage, hardships at work/school, being treated unfairly, etc. However, He does promise to be with us through these storms, and he offers His peace through it all.

Velma is licensed social worker who holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Velma has experience in providing clinical recommendations to both state courts and private agencies for children and families in the Illinois child welfare system. She is described as authentic, funny and kind and hopes to assist people on their path toward being a better version of themselves. She strives to offer guests hope with a different perspective, using both humor and silence. She is solutions oriented while believing that all guests come with their own processes.

Welcome All! I am a licensed clinical social worker. I earned my master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Understanding the difficulty of “seeing the light at the end of the tunnel” while dealing with issues, has driven me to become a therapist who could provide an unbiased, outside perspective to help others “see the light” at the end of their tunnel in order to aide in living your best life!

I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. Whether your story involves moments of anxiety, grief, depression, or other plot twists I am here to help you get through challenging times. Even when life is seemingly going well, our thoughts and feelings can make our days and nights a struggle. Living with mental illness or going through a challenging time can be like there is an ever-looming cloud blocking us from feeling the sun. It is my belief that therapy can help us see and feel the light again. Depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral or personality issues, and abuse & trauma can make us feel like we’re alone and without hope. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to go through life’s struggles alone and get to learn coping strategies and solutions.

Through more than 20 years of experience, I have worked extensively with individuals, couples and multi-generational families providing treatment for a wide range of conditions that affect mood, thinking, and behavior. I grew up in a large & humble home; learning and understanding the complexities of dealing with different types of personalities, sometimes in difficult circumstances at an early age. My goal is to see clients do amazing work in treatment by strengthening their coping skills, removing limiting beliefs, resolving conflicts, and lifestyle changes through a positive way of thinking, feeling, and behaving.

Life can be difficult, but I believe that we were built to do and overcome difficult things, even when the task of healing seems impossible. Your feelings are important, and you have the power to transform and heal within a safe space.

I believe that a client-focused, relational, and accepting therapeutic relationship encourages meaningful change and spiritual development. Further, I have found that maintaining an openness to the exploration and integration of faith and spirituality can be transformational for many individuals. I primarily use an existential framework to conceptualize my clients and incorporate techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
