If you are looking to manage your anxiety or depression without medication or want to reduce your dependence on medications, I am a licensed clinical professional counselor utilizing a holistic orientation. With over 35 years of experience working with a variety of mental health and medical clients, I teach clients how to manage anxiety, trauma, depression and medical issues such as or fibromyalgia naturally, Besides two trauma treatments I utilize, I also discuss the role of chiropractic, acupuncture, nutrition, and supplements. I focus on educating the client about the role of emotion in creating disease and health.
I utilize two therapeutic approaches for releasing trauma from the nervous system which is quite successful in treating anxiety, depression, phobias, pain and trauma. I am a certified EMDR therapist and Somatic Experiencing practitioner. I combine these with cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic therapy.
My goal is to help individuals learn to manage their own emotional states and to feel a sense of empowerment about their mental health. My background has been in inpatient mental health, outpatient medical rehabilitation (chronic pain and traumatic brain injury), integrative medical clinics and currently private practice.
