My experience encompasses the successful treatment of a wide range of mental health issues, including: anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, bipolar disorder, grief, and relationship issues including infidelity. My goal is to build a safe connection with my clients. Within our therapeutic relationship, clients are enabled to honestly assess themselves and their circumstances, charting a path to healing- a re-integration of mind, body, soul, environment/community.

For 20 years I specialized in divorce issues, both in families with high amounts of conflict and custody disagreements and provide support during this difficult transition. In addition, I have a strong background in Attachment, and I specialize in Attachment issues in children and adults and address the various challenges clients face in their current relationships. I use EMDR when appropriate and myriad Neuropsychological interventions.

I have extensive experience and expertise in understanding the intricacies of trauma and its impact on mental and physical well-being. My approach integrates trauma-focused, mindfulness, attachment-based, holistic, energy, and somatic modalities. I am direct in my approach and work best with individuals who are ready for change. My specialties include: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Complex-PTSD, LGBTQ+ related Traumas and Challenges, Anxiety, Depression, Navigating Toxic Relationships and Healing from Abusive Relationships

Taking steps to get counseling takes a lot of courage. I believe that everyone has their own unique experience and challenges, and that you don't have to go through it on your own. It is my goal to guide you closer to a balanced and happy life. I typically work with adults and adolescents ages 11-17 with anxiety, depression, body image, self-esteem, and coping skills. I am passionate about working with people who are marginalized (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Women etc.).

I have been in private practice for twenty-six years and work with individuals, couples, and families. In person and telehealth appointments are available. I work with children, adolescents and adults at every stage of their lives. I have a diverse practice and have greatly appreciated the diversity of my clients' life experience. My work focuses on supporting growth and individual development as well as symptom relief. I have offices in Glen Ellyn and Chicago and would be happy to speak with you regarding my practice.

I am passionate about helping people move from pain, tension, and chaos into integration, wholeness, and freedom. I work with teens and adults to help them make sense of their experiences of pain, release the burdens that have been weighing them down, and find more joy. I am particularly passionate about working within the Internal Family Systems (IFS) and AEDP models.

I am passionate about helping individuals navigate through life’s difficulties, transitions, and working collaboratively to discover more healing, peace, purpose, happiness, and empowerment. Many individuals can begin their therapy journey feeling overwhelmed with emotions, stuck, feeling frustrated, and could be experiencing anxiety, grieving, having interpersonal relationship struggles, and using ineffective coping skills. I believe that therapy can be a place of hope and possibility, by providing a safe, and supportive therapeutic space.

With over 20 years experience as a licensed psychologist, I think of the therapeutic relationship as a method for understanding the self. To that end, behavior patterns can be explored, internal experience can shift with the movement towards change. Perhaps you are caught in the same cycle and feeling frustrated. You may be adjusting to a life or career transition. Stuff from the past is triggering and you might not understand why you feel the way you do. We can explore and understand the meanings in a safe and creative way.

We start where you are, and map out a path to where you want to be, tackling the obstacles standing in the way of your thriving. My techniques include EMDR and Somatic Experiencing, research-backed therapies that often work for people who have made slow or no progress with other therapies. I'm also trained in several types of somatic touch, which can accelerate your progress if you choose to use touch. My goal is to get you back to your best life as quickly as possible!

I am passionate about working with you to develop freedom and resilience to deal with past childhood trauma and everyday stress of life. So often life experiences have been traumatic and contribute to struggles with depression, anxiety and inability to function. I work from a somatic and body centered and psycho-dynamic approaches that meets the needs of teens and women with childhood trauma, addictions, anxiety and eating disorders. My focus is to engage the whole person: mind, body, will, spirit and emotions. My intention is to bring hope, resilience and grace into all difficult life experiences.
