I strive to use interventions that meet the specific needs of my clients in a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental way. I often use a cognitive-behavioral approach (CBT) in psychotherapy as I help my clients adjust and overcome maladaptive thinking patterns and behaviors. I also utilize dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and other therapeutic modalities as a way of teaching clients important coping techniques to manage their stress and navigate their challenges. My goal is to help my clients learning healthy ways of living and a positive mindset to overcome challenges.

I understand that life has ups and downs which looks different to everyone and pain is something we all experience. I approach therapy with a strengths based approach and believe that even when people are struggling that have many strength that helped get them where they are today. I believe that you are the expert of your own life and my role is to support you non-judgmentally while helping you work towards the goals you choose. I am currently offering telehealth session and limited in-person sessions.

My goal is to help educate and collaborate with individuals in their various family dynamics to help find solutions to their problems. It is my passion to assist families and individuals with achieving their desired goals of leading happy, healthy, and well-functioning lives. I work with couples who are navigating the balance of holding onto their individual identity while embracing their relational identity with their partner. Sessions focus on providing psychoeducation and interventions around attachment, identity, vulnerability, communication, trust, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance.

My ideal client comes from many walks of life. They are children, teenagers, and adults and present with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, relationship and family problems, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), school problems, and oppositional-defiant disorder. They all share a common need to be heard, empowered, and guided on the path of recovery. I provide evidence-based treatments tailored to the needs of my clients. I focus on strengths and capabilities rather than "illness."

I specialize in treating men/women from dysfunctional families who have anxiety/depression as a result of their upbringing. Treatment interests include Adult Children of Alcoholics, family dysfunction, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma. I utilize a direct interactive style contingent on the clients' needs. I help clients understand their emotional "blue-print" and create new learning and choices. I work with emotionally distant individuals, building communication skills and a positive sense of self. I have a special interest in men's issues, including difficulties expressing and understanding emotions and anger management skills

I am a queer therapist that finds meaning working with individuals with histories of trauma, complex family dynamics, and those in toxic relationships with themselves and others. I also work with LGBTQ couples and mixed neurotype couples who want to explore open relationships, polyamory, and how to feel more connected and safer with their partners. My role as a therapist is to help my clients understand the symptoms that once protected them from trauma with the wisdom and compassion of your present self and encourage them to feel confident while you practice new skills to look ahead.

I am a published author who has presented my research on group psychotherapy nationally and internationally. I am also a licensed massage therapist who practices mind/body work. As a past board member with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and a past member of APA's Task force on severe mental illness, I am an advocate for individuals and families who struggle with the stigma associated with these disorders.
