Therapy is a process that can provide tools to relieve immediate stress, but also an opportunity to explore the underlying meanings, behavioral patterns, and relationship dynamics in order to lead a life of authenticity and genuine fulfillment. I know it’s often really hard to choose a therapist. To make it easier, I would be glad to speak with you on the phone for 15 minutes to discuss whether we might be a good match. I am only doing Telehealth including video so I can see anyone who lives in Illinois I work mainly with adults and see individuals and couples. If you are depressed or anxious, I would be glad to help you feel better. I also help people with eating disorders and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. I am on many EAP Panels and I take most insurance. My ideal client comes from many walks of life. They are children, teenagers, and adults and present with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, relationship and family problems, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), school problems, and oppositional-defiant disorder. They all share a common need to be heard, empowered, and guided on the path of recovery. I provide evidence-based treatments tailored to the needs of my clients. I focus on strengths and capabilities rather than "illness."

As a military spouse and mother, she understands life has many transitions; some unpredictable. Jennifer embraces a growth mindset and uses a whole person approach when establishing relationships with her clients. She believes by validating our experiences and understanding our environment, we can seek out our best self.

I strive to use interventions that meet the specific needs of my clients in a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental way. I often use a cognitive-behavioral approach (CBT) in psychotherapy as I help my clients adjust and overcome maladaptive thinking patterns and behaviors. I also utilize dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and other therapeutic modalities as a way of teaching clients important coping techniques to manage their stress and navigate their challenges. My goal is to help my clients learning healthy ways of living and a positive mindset to overcome challenges.

I am a caring, highly qualified, and spiritually conscious therapist. My goal is to help you live in a state of internal harmony that results from leading from the spiritual core of your Self. In practice for over 30 years, I began my clinical work in addiction in the early 1980's, graduated from Loyola University in 1991, completed an Advanced Psychodynamic Clinical Practice Certification at the University of Chicago and am trained in Internal Family Systems through the Center for Self-Leadership. I was also trained by the EMDR Institute to treat trauma and highly charged memories, experiences, and relationships.

I am thrilled to work with adults and adolescents 14+ (in particular adults 40+) who are looking to improve their mental health by building deep understanding of their holistic wellbeing. My ideal clients look into their past with me and explore the events that made them who they are in the present. They thrive in a relaxed and unstructured environment and welcome the non-linear progress of therapy. I love clients who are trying therapy for the first time or have had poor experiences with prior therapists. For adolescents, I offer the same client-driven work, mirroring the process of adult therapy.

My ideal client is looking for a strength-based approach to treatment - not just a focus on "problems." I believe that you already possess many skills and abilities that simply need to be unlocked to overcome your difficulties. I am passionate about helping others and consider myself to be a champion for social justice and working with clients who might come from marginalized communities or face discrimination or harassment. My ideal client is looking for a partner to help them in the change process - someone who will point out blind spots and provide practical steps to deal with their problems.

I am a big believer that effective therapy is a collaborative effort between the client and the therapist and that healing is achieved by working together. I take an integrative approach to therapy, where I tailor the therapy to fit the needs of the client.
