I am a mental health counselor who has worked in the mental health field for over nineteen years and have been a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and a licensed mental health counselor in Hawaii since 2013. Additionally, I have collaborated with clients of various ages, ethnicies, cultures, Nationalities and from all social classes dealing with a wide range of issues. My experience is vast as I have worked with the following: neuro-psychiatric, suicidal ideation/attempts, LGBTQIA, PTSD, anger management, grief/loss, trauma, abuse, relationship issues, school counseling, juvenile justice, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and the like.

Psychological trauma occurs when our level of stress exceeds our ability to cope with that stress. When this happens, our subconscious minds often develop cognitive distortions and a disregulated nervous system (stuck in fight-or-flight survival mode) that can then lead to maladaptive behaviors. This may show up as feeling anxious or depressed, ADHD, memory issues, confusion, or dissociation, feeling stuck, or lacking stability, motivation, & focus in life. I specialize in helping womxn who have been subjected to narcissistic abuse by men. This type of romantic relationship is known as a "pathological love relationship" (PLR).

People pleasing and perfectionist tendencies leaves us drained, resentful, and disconnected from who we are at the core. You may be fed up with the pressures and expectations of doing “all of the things”, feeling stretched too thin or wish you had the inner strength to make yourself a priority. You might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to commit to the change. You’re ready to kick self doubt to the curb. Most of all, you’re ready to embark on a journey towards peace and purpose.

Welcome to my private practice. I will first provide you with some background information about me so that you can become familiar with me. I had the honor of serving on active duty as an Officer and Clinical Psychologist for the Army, the Navy and as a civilian Clinical Psychologist for the Department of Defense.

As a marriage and family therapist, I provide therapeutic services to a range of clients, from those struggling with intimate partner conflict to navigating the obstacles of co-parenting. I approach each individual, couple, or family with compassion and excel to establish a caring, collaborative and welcoming environment with consideration for one's cultural background, sexual orientation, and life experiences.

The human experience can be extremely challenging at times. With practice, you can learn to navigate the difficult parts of life with more ease, acceptance, and inner peace. I believe in the proven benefits of mindfulness-based therapies which is why my approach to therapy is hands on using therapy models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCB). I specialize in treating depression and anxiety disorders, and helping people navigate difficult life transitions.
